How long is yours. I've been reading up on the 1 page myth and that doesn't seem to be true anymore. I have an extremely basic 1 page resume, but its a little too basic. 2 pages would have a good extensive overview of my credentials. I've got my expertise with my masters degree than i have with actual experience in my field. Just seeing how long peoples are and getting any input.

the one page myth is just that, a fuckin myth

Depends on the job, experience and company... I'd say in most cases its not needed to go over a page though. In most cases you just need to get it through a hiring manager and real managers will want to hear about your experience in person/over phone

Nobody wants to read two pages of your crap. Keep it all on one page and use 4 pt. font!

it depends on the personI've had some people say that a multi page resume if just fine. and then I've had people like my previous employer who would throw away any resume that was longer than 1 page without even looking at it.

pretty much all my professors were like if you need 2 pages then dont sell yourself short by trying to fit it on one page and leaving out a few things[Edited on June 15, 2008 at 7:15 PM. Reason : although shit like ^ does make me wonder cause i'd kinda want a page too...took me like 2 hours to get mine on a page after fucking with margins etc]]

I had mine in a short 1 page format and never got any bites. Once I expanded it and actually took the room to highlight all my qualifications, it was 2 pages and I got a lot better results.

Some people may need two pages straight out of college, but way more people think they need them than actually do. The one-page "rule" isn't worth holding sacred, but it would probably work for most people for at least a few years out of school. Because if you bump it to two pages, you have to have the content to fill two pages and not make it look padded. I'm guessing if you are on the fence, there's some fat that could be trimmed to keep it at one page. I have a feeling the people who have enough experience to fully warrant two pages would know it.
