I graduated last July and am not all that familiar with the new NC State website. I have already lost my webmail.ncsu.edu account and am wondering if there is any way i can view my transcript online. If there is can someone tell me what to go to. Thanks

"My Pack Portal" has replaced what you knew as "Pack Tracks" you can login here:https://portal.acs.ncsu.edu/psp/EPPRD/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG&Login with your unity account and you can view your transcript. If your unity account is giving you problems, then contact Registration and Records using their info here:http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/contact/index.html[Edited on June 15, 2008 at 6:58 PM. if your unity id and password don't work ... don't call us, please. Here is information on how to order a transcript: http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/faq/transcript.html

That's complete bullshit that we have to pay for our own transcripts. Maybe i will call to annoy the office

^ It's fairly common actually.

I don't think its unreasonable to call registration and records if you would like help getting your Unity account up and running. After all the thousands and thousands in tuition dollars you have paid, you should be able to talk to an R&R employee to resolve your problem quickly. They might have to refer you to a different department on campus-- but you have to start somewhere. Once you get your unity account up and running, you'll be able to view your academic records online at no cost.[Edited on June 17, 2008 at 6:58 PM. Reason : .]

Why should R&R know and/or care anything about your unity account?

paying for a transcript doesn't annoy me, but paying $10 for one does....there is no way that a red piece of paper costs that much...
6/17/2008 9:44:45 PM
^ yea it's crazyi remember when i walked into the registrar's office at georgia tech a couple of weeks ago to have a couple copies of my transcript sent to my current employer, etc., I pulled out my wallet after I had given them the mailing info and asked how much, and they said "no charge."You can have as many transcripts sent for free. But when I had to have my undergraduate transcripts sent again, $10/ea (i think)

a lot of schools charge a fee while the students are in school so that they can then provide them with transcripts "free of charge"about calling R&R for your unity id ... we will gladly help a student with any question they have (unity id or other). however, there is nothing we can do about getting your account reactivated. that's what i meant by don't call us.the only way we can "reactivate" your account is if you readmit to the university.we are not the givers (or takers away) of unity accounts. we would much prefer that they stay active eternally! that would make things much easier for the students and us.

the only semi-legit way to have your unity account added back into the year's access group is to get a department to add you as a no-pay employee

^ and ^^ Thats really a shame that the university doesn't keep your Unity account active, its also good to know as I am approaching graduation.

so should i get a transcript now or what?[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 12:56 AM. Reason : have to do my internship still]
6/18/2008 12:56:31 AM
^^ OIT doesn't have the resources to keep tens of thousands of Unity accounts open after students graduate.
6/18/2008 6:16:32 AM
sure dnl, if you dont want it to show that you graduated.....
6/18/2008 6:34:48 PM
I would suggest to everyone to at least print off some copies of your transcript while you still have access. They might not be "official" but they will still look legit. I used mine for a job interview and i also need it to apply for grad school because i have to put in the classes i took manually online.I didnt realize that i would not have access to my transcript official or unofficial after graduation so i WOULD DEFINETELY RECOMMEND PRINTING OFF AT LEAST 1 COPY BEFORE GRADUATION. The only thing i can do now is go to R&R and pay $10 for an official or (i think get 1 free unofficial) but it is still a pain in the ass. NCSU really pisses me off with this.
6/18/2008 7:38:13 PM
This a few years back but I thought you could get a free unofficial transcript from R&R, but that was back when the official ones where $5
6/22/2008 2:12:24 PM
you can get free unofficial copies
6/23/2008 7:55:53 PM
yeah, i got the free unofficial one....
6/23/2008 9:28:39 PM
Yeah but it sucks that unofficial transcripts are not available online. We have to go to campus for one, or fax but who has a fax machine at their house, i know i dont. Also, i read somewhere that you are only allowed 1 free unofficial transcript. Basically losing Pack Tracks access sucks ass

It's not so bad if you need one before starting a real job (10 bucks once versus a student fee built in each semester like many colleges is worth it). IT REALLY SUCKS when you apply for graduate schools because you need 2 for most schools you apply to. When I applied to grad school it was only 5 each, but I was pretty ticked that it took all of 3 minutes to print them, stuff them in envelopes, and seal and sign (with a hand stamp) the back of the envelopes. I would like to know why the cost for a transcript has doubled (printing, sealing, and stamping/signing over the envelope surely hasn't increased in cost).
6/24/2008 4:31:27 AM
^I really want to know why they have increased the price so drastically in the last couple of years. If the paper they use is that expensive they need to just change paper.
6/24/2008 9:38:30 AM
so i should just get like 40 transcripts in my last semester just to be safe?
6/24/2008 1:53:40 PM
^ Official Transcripts are not free.
