pontoon boats are good because you dont really find a lot of used ones, but when you do, they are pretty cheap.

my uncle is lookin into them also. found a 24-26 footer on Clists with an upperdeck, $10,000. but the upperdeck doesnt clear some things around his lake house

My mother was like "those things are stupid, they are only good for getting drunk and fishing off of!"

I then reiterated that I really wanted one. I mean if the motherfucker runs how hard could it be to fix it up. It looks like one of those things your friends would line up to help you work on. (with the understanding they got drunk on it too)

And an outdoor carpet dance floor

I got burgers on the grill and beer on ice and ill probably seeing you soon

I ain’t making no waves ain’t starting no fights just crusin’ in my pontoon

All I need is me and my girl parked in a cove

In the glow of the moon light

Making love on my pontoon boat

On a Carolina Saturday night

Wake up in the morning hitting golf balls off the back

Just off the side, you know I’m doin a gainer, and takin me a lake Norman bath

I ain’t wearing a pair of board shorts, Wal-Mart suites me fine

I kinda like the mesh holdin’ by balls, reminds me of another time

I can’t loan you a fancy ski vest but I got a couple of orange life jackets

I ain’t tying up with none of those pretty boy boats

I can’t stand that jack Johnson racket.

I don’t get in a lot of trouble but have had a few misdemeanors

Hell no I don’t watch racing no more it ain’t the same since we lost SENIOR

i've actually waterskiied (with 2 skiies, anyway) behind a v-hull party barge.

I'm not sure who was pulling who. He pulled me forward; I pretty much dragged the boat across the lake when I pulled to the side, though.

My parents boat has a force motor on it and that motor has been a POS. I was not sure if there was maybe a quality difference between the Chrysler Force motors and the Mercury ones. This one is apparently a Mercury motor and the older ones were Chrysler. I have always heard that Chrysler made the shittiest outboard motors ever.

the last one on ^^ his boat lasted for 24 years, with absolutely no problems, other than spark plugs every year or so

it finally shit the bed trying to haul colter around

[Edited on June 15, 2008 at 11:04 AM. Reason : anything will last if you take care of it, some things stand up to neglect better, thats all]

Some have poorly designed and engineered components that make them prone to problems too.

Funny this got bumped, the wife and I are looking for one now. We think we want a tri-toon, 150hp or greater, maybe 22-25ft. Have not found many dealers in central/eastern NC for pontoons.

does Chatlee not carry a lot of Pontoons? It may not be their target market. That's where I got my I/O.

also, a neighbor on our lake just upgraded to a Tri-toon with a 300hp Mercury. It's got a wrap on it that makes the whole thing look like a floating Monster Energy can. Not sure the maker, i'll check it out this weekend and report back.

Chatlee is about the only dealer we have found that is close to us. There are some around Lake Norman but thats a long drive for us. We are in Selma.

Winds at the coast on average whip up the sound way worse than Jordan/Kerr/Gaston/Norman/Falls. You see pontoons out there but it really ain't the boat you want most days.

no branding, but you can definitely tell what it's modeled after. what's funny is he actually traded in a really nice pontoon that looked like a big budweiser can

I used to see tons of pontoon boats in the Pamlico Sound growing up.

Went to Chatlee today and ended up buying a 23ft Crest II Tritoon with a 150hp motor. Picking it up next thursday! Looking forward to taking the family out next weekend.

Didn't get any pics today. I had the kids with me, 3 and 8 months, so we were trying to get in and out without wasting to much time. Completely forgot to take a picture.
