I have never seen any topics here about wakeboarding and since summer has started i thought id give it a shot. If you wakeboard what are you riding and what tricks are you working on

I've got a LF trip 143 that I had just learned how to backflip on last summer, but I really don't have a chance to go unless I go home.

I was on the lake last week. a friend was wake boarding. He was doing a jump. We were pulling him pretty slow (per his request). He landed badly. Tore his ACL and miniscus. Be careful out there!

In one summer I got a concussion, busted ear drum, sprained ankle, and bruised ribs... lol it's not fun unless you're doing something stupid

I just started doing it recently. A friend of mine here in Miami is a wakeboarding instructor. Its a lot of fun, even if you suck at it like I do.

I ride at Harris a lot, Gaston on a lot of weekends. This year has been tough though, only been a couple of times due to work, and now I'm stuck in India for work for 3 weeks, so it'll be like starting over again when I return. Hyperlite 3DS 139, '08 Murray bindings. Landed my first tantrum (any self-respecting wakeboarder doesn't call a tantrum a 'backflip') last summer. If you want to talk to other local riders, check out http://www.endofropegang.com

a tantrum and backflip aren't the same thing, I was attempting tantrums too but couldn't stay balanced.

carzin you talking about james?

^^maybe you mean a "backroll" which is a real trick, but a tantrum IS a heelside backflip. I'm hoping to stick a heelside backroll or a toeside backroll this summer. Here's my first (and second) tantrum, with some good crashes beforehand:http://www.virb.com/spydyrwyr/videos/24216It's not impressive, but I was pretty stoked after trying like 50 times unsuccessfully.

ok I was always told that a tantrum was where you took off regular into a backflip and landed goofy. I guess I was doing tantrums. Is the former even a trick? If it is it's hard as hell to do.

if you're talking about coming in heelside, then doing a backflip and landing switch, then that's a "tantrum to revert."

railies were the hardest because they punish you so bad if you can't get the board back under in time.

k2, yeah. How do you know?

as I understand it, its really a 1 year recovery, and you probably wont trust it for another year after that. really sucks.
