Didn't see a thread, so I made this.I'm contemplating seeing this movie because the group of students I'm down here in Louisiana with will be seeing it...but, its also a CG movie of a kung-fu panda voiced by Jack Black.Has anyone seen it>

6/13/2008 12:03:18 AM
^ you don't compare a dreamworks movie to a pixar one. its like comparing wild irish rose to a fine wine
6/13/2008 1:45:05 AM
movie was fuckin BOSS.
6/13/2008 2:46:29 AM
^^Also, as an example, you don't compare two movies you haven't seen yet:Wall-E - Kung-Fu PandaIt's like comparing two foods you've never tasted.[Edited on June 13, 2008 at 7:33 AM. Reason : -]

i want to see kung fu panda and wall-e. we'll go see kung fu panda when Fumbler gets back. i agree, pixar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>dreamworks, but...as far as characters & story, kung fu panda is more attractive to me than wall-e. ever since disney bought pixar, the movies have been kinda different. like ratatouille...it looked horrible and i still haven't bothered watching it, even though i love pixar and own all the other films they've made (and that says a lot bc i don't care anything about owning dvds otherwise).
6/13/2008 8:16:14 AM
I'm gonna watch this movie today...pretty pumped.I think Wall-E is gonna be pretty badass too. I use to avoid these types of movies, but after catching a lot of them on HBO, they are pretty damn entertaining.
6/13/2008 8:31:51 AM
^^ Dude you're missing out on Ratatouille. IMO it's the best Pixar film since Toy Story 2.[Edited on June 13, 2008 at 9:01 AM. Reason : Or maybe The Incredibles]
6/13/2008 9:01:28 AM
Brad Bird and his team were working on Ratatouille long before Disney bought Pixar. It's a fantastic movie and I've watched it at least a dozen times (and hello, it's BRAD FUCKING BIRD). The camera work in particular is outstanding. Wall-E is based on a Chaplin flick and should be an interesting experiment if nothing else.Sorry, moment of weakness here because this is making me mad, but all these people think you shouldn't avoid Ratatouille just because Cars sucked:
6/13/2008 9:27:50 AM
I'm gonna go see this shit tonight
6/13/2008 10:06:01 AM
yeah i heard it got many great reviews, and i want to see it now, but the story line of a rat that tells a guy how to cook from inside his hat just sounded dumb to me at first.
6/13/2008 10:24:00 AM
Ratatouille is my 2nd favorite Pixar film behind The Incredibles. I'll go ahead and rank them all since I know you all care:1. The Incredibles2. Ratatouille3. Cars4. Finding Nemo5. Toy Story 26. Monsters, Inc.7. Toy Story8. A Bug's LifeI rank the Toy Story movies low because of Randy Newman.
6/13/2008 11:52:09 AM
1. Finding Nemo2. The Incredibles3. Ratatouille4. Toy Story 25. A Bug's Life6. Monsters, Inc.7. Toy Story8. CarsI can't believe TS2 got pushed down so far when I used to talk it up to anyone who'd listen...the power of Brad Bird, I suppose.
6/13/2008 12:03:59 PM
This movie was pretty damn hilarious. Jack Black delivers.
6/13/2008 11:05:18 PM
Why did everyone like The Incredibles so much? I thought it was just "okay" compared with the toy stories, a bugs life, and monsters inc.
6/14/2008 10:19:59 AM
i really want to see this movie.[Edited on June 14, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Reason : ]

6/14/2008 10:33:48 AM
1. Toy Story 22. A Bug's Life3. The Incredibles4. Finding Nemo5. Monsters, Inc.6. Ratatouille7. Toy Story8. Carsi'd need a refresher on some of the shorts cause i'd be tempted include them too...as crude as "Tin Toy" is, that baby still makes me LOL

I -adored- this movie the animation is FANTASTIC and I'm not easily impressed when it comes to animationI loved how they went from 2-D to 3-D and the transition was very smooth and added a nice touch I thought.A+ would see again!!
6/14/2008 11:56:02 AM
another thread that makes me feel disassociated from society
6/14/2008 11:56:48 AM
i usually dont like the new brand of animated films like monster's incthe only ones i like are disney real animations and a few gems like Ants with good humorbut Kung-fu panda was awsome, so funny and the animation i think is hand drawn so its definately a must see

Funny movie, worth seeing. My friend and I were bored so went to the movies and saw it on a whim outside of our normal movie going choices. We were pleasantly surprised.

6/20/2008 9:59:46 PM
I don't know if you're cool or not, but it does make you an indie elitist homo.]
