6/3/2008 4:43:21 PM
they say the heat makes people crazy
6/3/2008 4:48:26 PM
When I was little, we found a man. He looked like - like, butchered. The old woman in the village crossed themselves... and whispered crazy things, strange things. "El Diablo cazador de hombres." Only in the hottest years this happens. And this year, it grows hot. We begin finding our men. We found them sometimes without their skins... and sometimes much, much worse. "El cazador trofeo de los hombres" means the demon who makes trophies of men.

It says it's 78 up in DC right now. It's 85 in raleigh.Where are you at right now, terpball?
6/3/2008 5:08:40 PM
I had a peasant walk with the dogs today. Didn't seem uncomfortable to me.
6/3/2008 5:13:28 PM
Yesterday, near my home in Northern Colorado, we had flash floods because our higher-than-normal snow pack all melted when it hit 85.

We should harness the increased temperatures to provide clean energy.
6/3/2008 5:33:50 PM
^ That's the solution! We shouldn't be so focused on changing the atmosphere in such a way as to trap less of the heat from the sun... We should be catching those rays from the sun before they even enter the atmosphere.Like a huge pair of shades with integrated PV cells!
6/3/2008 5:42:01 PM
^ Could work. I'm intrigued by such engineering solutions to global warming, but you have to watch out for unintended consequences.
6/3/2008 5:52:57 PM
It does seem possible, but no doubt there would be an immediate list of a dozen or more species that would utterly wiped out as a result.

We must develop crowbar technology to address the growing threat.

6/4/2008 10:57:27 AM
80 doesnt sound bad, but that humidity is a killer. Days like that Im happy for my education and indoor work enviroment.Do you commute to work or walk/bike or bus? doing any of the later 3 would be a bitch with that humidity.
6/4/2008 10:59:43 AM
I'll be biking to work in a moment. I hope I survive the heat.
6/4/2008 11:03:06 AM
good luck. One word: Hydrate
6/4/2008 11:06:08 AM
I take the metro, walk a few blocks to and from the stops - it isn't that badFriday it is supposed to be 93It'll be 85 with 100% humidity when I go home (or to softball if i choose)that'll be a bitch
6/4/2008 11:09:49 AM
i'm wondering why you keep saying its 100% humidity when its not
6/4/2008 11:11:29 AM
because it's fucking raining on and off, that's why
6/4/2008 11:43:45 AM

6/4/2008 3:23:02 PM

6/4/2008 4:13:54 PM
A huge storm just passed (still kinda here actually), and there has been a tornado warning for DC proper and surrounding areas for the past hour - and it will stay in effect until at least 8 PM
6/4/2008 4:30:58 PM
its about 92 here in charlotte with about 40% humidity...its pretty hot...but yesterday it was just "pretty warm"
6/4/2008 4:32:14 PM

6/5/2008 10:01:09 AM

6/5/2008 10:44:56 AM
6/5/2008 10:49:19 AM
i knowim saying, after growing up in NC and thinking the summers were badand coming up hereit's on some next level shit
6/5/2008 11:20:36 AM
Yo, Yesterday... that fuckin stormThat was some CHICKEN LITTLE shit goin on, for real.
6/5/2008 11:24:03 AM
DC has that wonderful lack of greenery to take the edge off the heat... Nothing like humidity plus living in a city that is essentially nothing but miles and miles of thermal mass retaining the heat.
6/5/2008 11:24:27 AM
^^yeah I was in the Capitol for a meeting and they locked that shit down like "PLEASE MOVE TO A SECURE AREA"no one even batted an eye even though you could see it coming across the river out the window like holy. fuck.
