Last week I was buying Type R's.This week I'm all "SELL SELL SELL!"
5/27/2008 10:29:33 PM
looks like an RSXTypeS
5/27/2008 10:40:29 PM
looks uggs but sweet idea
5/27/2008 10:44:30 PM
I wonder if that concept is even close to the final design there in the posted picture...They could make it look really neat. Or they could make it look non-assy. That concept is leaning a little towards assy.
5/27/2008 11:26:38 PM
i was really hoping yota was gonna build subie a better boxxer..
5/28/2008 1:11:02 AM
match made in heaven
5/28/2008 2:34:55 AM
i'll be the first in line.
5/28/2008 4:40:04 AM
This is old news... they have been working on a joint car for over a year now.^^^^ That's not a concept... that's an artist's impression.
5/28/2008 7:21:38 AM
why on earth would they put in the 2.0NA instead of the 2.0 turbo or the 2.5 turbo?? well soob stuff is like legos, I'm sure a swap would be easy
5/28/2008 8:28:00 AM
priced under 20,000 could be a limiting factor. I'd suspect they'll have higher end models with different engine options. 220hp from a 2.0 H4 isn't bad though.
5/28/2008 8:51:34 AM
i want to see an all motor 200+ 4 cyl. [Edited on May 28, 2008 at 8:53 AM. Reason : oh wait.. but no, subaru will find a way to put a turbo on it cuz of costs]
5/28/2008 8:52:46 AM
^S2000, rsx-san artist's impression? so someone drew up a random modern-looking sporty coupe out of thin air, hais a boxer engine any more or less conducive to high revs? 220hp 2.0L sounds like it will go pretty high (even if peaking at 6500)[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 8:59 AM. Reason : ]
5/28/2008 8:59:30 AM
5/28/2008 9:05:25 AM
^ are the numbers you are using in your calculation intended for crank or wheel horsepower? I agree that 200+ crank hp at 6500 rpm on a 2 liter n/a motor doesn't add up though, just seems really unlikely to do that at less than 8k
5/29/2008 12:19:36 AM
no i didn't subtract any drivetrain loss.. but actually i found that the s2000s run rich up high and still burn nearly all of it... so it could do a little better than that.

Spied! First-Ever Look At Toyota-Subaru RWD Coupehttp://news.windingroad.com/body-stylesmarket-segment/coupes/spied-first-ever-look-at-toyota-subaru-rwd-coupe/
6/5/2008 3:32:36 PM
its got the leggy nose and rear on it and it looks 4 door... i'm thinking the spied the next legacy not the suboata
6/5/2008 4:31:29 PM
wowand i didnt think subaru could make an uglier carguess they have out done themselves!
6/5/2008 6:09:13 PM
^are you serious? Its CAMOUFLAGED. Its likely that that car is covered in donor body panels from other cars. Don't be naive.Sounds promising, lets see what happens
6/5/2008 6:24:02 PM
hm - a probably-reliable and cheap sporting car - sounds like a good idea - sign me up
6/5/2008 6:53:04 PM
I'm excited to see how awesome a boxxer 4 behind the front wheels will handle/ how low and centered the cog will be.
6/5/2008 7:23:45 PM
Yeah that could be either really nice looking or really ugly.I wish they would've revealed a little more of the styling because as is I think it's going to look really ugly.Cover up the nice parts of the car and uncover the turd-ass parts... Blech.
6/5/2008 9:56:55 PM
i'm 98% positive thats a legacy in the spy shots...[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 10:45 AM. Reason : .]
6/6/2008 10:41:31 AM
I'm pretty sure they're using Legacy body panels. You'll notice that the wheelbase is much shorter, however.
6/6/2008 12:05:07 PM
no... no it isn't... hell if you look over the drivers head you can even see the little rear window behind the rear door... yes... legacies do have that much overhang i'm almost certain its the refresh of te legacy... there is also rumor about a legacy sti coming out which it could possibly be
6/6/2008 12:34:06 PM
After studying it more closely, I concur ><After their new Impreza this better be a sweet car. I can't take any more ugly, softer shit from them
6/6/2008 12:51:08 PM
6/6/2008 1:12:27 PM
If I were in the market for a car these days, I would seriously consider a Legacy GT. I think they are nice looking cars, affordable, awd, and pretty decent all around...
6/6/2008 1:14:18 PM
why would you want an AWD car?
6/6/2008 1:15:50 PM
because i live in alaska
6/6/2008 1:25:14 PM
^isn't this car a little too big boyish for you? I'd be worried you wouldn't be able to handle it and endanger everyone on the road around you. Just stick to granny's WRX.

6/6/2008 2:31:58 PM
It's still a fucking subaru btw.
6/6/2008 2:42:01 PM
6/6/2008 3:32:13 PM
I need to spell it out? That was a pretty obvious point.
6/6/2008 4:28:41 PM
Was it pretty obvious that I was calling you a dumbass?
6/6/2008 4:45:21 PM
6/6/2008 4:46:14 PM
Hm, that little coupe looks nice. I'd drive it, especially if it wasn't too heavy and got decent gas mileage.
6/6/2008 5:09:17 PM
I hope to God it doesn't look like that artists rendering above. Last thing this car needs is the Impreza's ugly mug on the front
6/6/2008 5:57:07 PM
reminds me of a C230 Kompressor
6/6/2008 6:59:20 PM
tww is not a place to insult vws bmws or rednecks there are to many fans of all of the above on here...
6/6/2008 7:30:54 PM
VAG's are pieces of shit under $50k, above that mark they're hit or miss*[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 10:16 PM. Reason : *made in the last 15 years]
6/6/2008 10:16:05 PM
sadly that included Lambos
6/7/2008 2:36:30 AM
I guess this thing is being named the Corolla AE86.Read this in a R&T article.
7/25/2008 9:18:13 AM
Subie + Toy? Come on, you can't go wrong with that kind of combination (atleast on the engineering side, styling is another issue).
7/25/2008 9:27:40 AM
7/25/2008 11:08:32 AM
i got an 06 m3 vibe out of the front]
7/25/2008 11:35:17 AM
350z wheels and wheel arches subie nose and the roofline looks like some civic type r shit with the c pillar still being ripped from a mazda 3
