Anybody watching this on A&E?

Yes - pretty good so far.

Eh, it's not very faithful to the book.

I never read the book. Not a bad story, and better production value than I expected from A&E.

Well, one thing is for sure.Ricky Schroder looks like a goddamn muppet.

He looked old

That's probably because of all of the on-set orgies when he was doing "Silver Spoons".

it was okbut really, how many movies stay true to the book anyway?i mean look at Bourne...the major plot lines that spanned the series were completely left out
5/28/2008 3:03:10 AM
the book was good

It just struck me as a bit of the "Oh, it's the '00s (or whatever this decade is called), let's throw in some kind of shadowy evil government conspiracy".

i thought it was god awful compared to both the book and the original moviei watched it cause im a huge crichton fan but it had no shred of him left by the time they were done with itnow i'm jonesin for the old movie

i thought the first two hours were pretty good but the second half was painful to watch. and i just had a hard time with the cast. I felt Christa Miller was a bad choice for Dr. Noyce b/c i really love her over the top bitch character in Scrubs. And, I never read the book, but from all of the plot summaries i read it seemed like Jack Nash had a much bigger involvement than what was let on in the miniseries. Hell my directv description said "journalist unravels a government conspiracy when a lethal toxin from outerspace lands in remote utah" so i was expecting that end of the story to have a much bigger part, and what does he do? Makes one 30 second phonecall with 5 minutes left to tell his editor about the whole thing. yeah, ok.granted i watched it all and was entertained, but it just felt really thrown together. That story needed at least another night to tell.

the original movie was rad.

I love how christa millers role so far (i'm an hour in to the first episode) is to just notice stuff on the video screens thats painfully obvious to the viewers but nobody else notices.

Me and my boyfriend were enthralled by this on Monday night, but yesterday night it was just hard to watch. What a letdown. Sphere's premise sucked more but the movie was better

that thumb toss was so horrible

haha wow.and by plot summaries, i meant for the mini-series not the book. I assumed his role in the book (which clearly there was none) would have been bigger
