i am having some trouble getting my client to poll the server about the power status

just a server with the ups connected via usb with the client and server on the same network so the firewall shouldnt be an issue

i have the client set up (i believe) to poll the server but every time i start the apcupsd service on the client i get a comm error

server is rhel 5 and the client is ubuntu 7.10

the server works perfectly with the usb connection

what is the error you get

and are there any sort of logs generated by it?

i think that i may have it narrowed down to a routing error right now

the netsever should be off on the slave?
