I realized today that I have an amazing ceiling that I am not using to its full potential.I was laying in my bed staring at it and it came to me that it close to having the perfect widescreen shape, and it is fairly large considering the size of the bedroom (10'x12'). There is a smoke detector up there but it is kind of in the corner so I can get over it. If there is any chance in hell I can project movies on this ceiling panel I sure as hell am gonna try. Now I need tdub expert advice because I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about. Below are pictures that I have included so you can get an idea of the room. As you can see it is slanted, and quite large.A few specific questions. Is it even possible to get a large image in a small room such as this one? Where should I look for a well-priced projector? Any other advice? Thanks.[Edited on May 26, 2008 at 4:59 PM. Reason : pics]

Gonna mount the speakers up there too? I have a projector in my living room that sits about 10 feet back from the wall and puts out 110" diag. How far is it from where you are going to mount to projector to the ceiling?

the speakers are already there, much lower at ear level and not visible in the image. I'd say the projector will have a good 12-14 feet distance from where i want the image to be.

Unless you're gonna point it straight up (which I assume would mean the projector would be ON your bed) I don't see how you'd ever get a picture that wasn't keystoned to hell and back. Probably to the point of where it wouldn't even be close to watchable.IMO, this seems like one of those ideas that works out a lot better in your head then it would in reality.edit, well now I see it's slanted, so I guess it won't have to be completely straight up. I guess it could work, but I wouldn't want to be the one setting it up.[Edited on May 26, 2008 at 8:27 PM. Reason : eh]
