So, I was messing around and it says I have "bad" academic progress. I have a 3.0, so its not like my GPA sucks and I am on academic suspension or anything. I have 82 hours- is that why? I thought the cut off was like 160 or something....Any ideas? Does this mean I am ineligible to receive aid?I'm calling there tomorrow, just seeing if anyone has any ideas

May have something to do with full time enrollment perhaps? Are you registered for fall classes yet? If so, do you have more than 12 hours?

You have to pass a minimum number of hours per year, 24 I think.I'm sure you can find out by looking at the FA website.[Edited on May 20, 2008 at 7:36 PM. Reason : http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=419849]

yeah, most likely you didn't take/pass 24 hours in the academic year. you can take courses during the summer to get you to 24 and file a letter for reinstatement while you're taking them.

Like everyone else said did you pass 24 hours of classes you have never taken before in the academic year? Are you registered for at least 12 in the fall?Call finanical aid, they're fairly helpful and will let you know whats wrong and how you can correct it.

Yeah, I passed 26 hours. I only took 9 in the fall so I made a point to take an extra couple classes in the spring. Its bizarre- I guess I'll just call them in the morning.

Thats probably what it was, I took 12 in spring and 9 during fall one year and a course during summer to make it up, and they withheld my financial aid for the next year because they 'forgot' to count my credit during the summer. Just gotta get someone to manually revise it.

yeah i had that happen once...had to take 3 hours in the summer to get 24 hours

When you only took 9 hrs it probably listed you as bad progress. Then when you did additional courses to make up for it no one actually went back and updated your academic progress.
