5/16/2008 2:43:11 PM
email is server/client shit shit.this is all the shit in between... getting data from one place to another.
5/16/2008 3:32:42 PM
i love the way you cisco guys talk....now plz 2 give me a job
5/16/2008 3:41:11 PM
we have some reqs open, if you've got experience with networking, pm me.
5/17/2008 8:26:42 AM
grats buddy
5/19/2008 8:13:50 PM
What exactly can you now do? Like what of problems/obstacles did you face in the lab? I don't really get it. Devices are guaranteed by design. RTFM on how to use devices. If device is bad, replace device. How hard can it be?
5/20/2008 7:04:18 AM
Thanks everyone!!^ From a simplistic IT administrator viewpoint, you are correct. If you want to manage and troubleshoot a complex IP network, I imagine that you know its not quite that easy.[Edited on May 20, 2008 at 8:29 AM. Reason : .]

I'm not trolling, obviously its tough based simply on how few ppl have this cert. I want a picture of what you faced for the test. I don't know anything about networking crap. I picture a room fulled of tangled ethernet cables and blinking lights... Give me examples of problems and the solutions.
5/20/2008 9:10:06 AM
Mary cant send email.Email guy calls robster like "wtf, eh?"robster fixes problem.Mary continues to play solitare.
5/20/2008 9:15:52 AM
here's a sample test:http://www.netmasterclass.net/doit/master_doit_v2_labsample_sc.pdfthe actual scenario starts around page 15.solutions are here:http://www.netmasterclass.net/doit/master_doit_v2_labsample_ak.pdf
5/20/2008 9:16:39 AM
hmm ... example of something similar to whats on the CCIE? I guess I can do that
5/20/2008 9:17:18 AM
The french have cisco routers??!??
5/20/2008 9:18:17 AM
5/20/2008 9:31:58 AM
my favorite example was from a case that came in today ... we put it on our wall of shame."router has an external probelm to another router that isflappy, has beachyp resets when this happens you cant pingremote router ertror messages: imput errorlog messages session going down and then comes back up" Pls to fix
5/20/2008 9:43:18 PM
hahahah"pls to fix"awesome
5/20/2008 9:48:19 PM
I love the "beachyp" part ... couldnt believe it really... some people
5/21/2008 7:16:38 AM
i was in TAC the other day (among many other ASE's). pretty sure i saw you on the screens congratulating you on your IE. also dropped by bobby's cube but he wasn't around :p
5/21/2008 10:33:58 PM
ase's arent people...
5/21/2008 10:35:49 PM
^^Thanks ...Bobby tries to work as little as he can, so you normally have to go to the breakroom or gameroom if you want to find him.
5/22/2008 7:52:02 AM
or sometimes in robster's cube to fix a native vlan mismatch....
5/22/2008 9:23:26 AM
Congrats Robster!
5/25/2008 11:20:39 PM
congrats!I've started studying for the CCIE written. What books or materials does everyone recommend? I was thinking about reviewing the CCNP books, and possibly getting TCP/IP Routing Vol 1&2. Anything else?
5/26/2008 9:37:33 AM
CCNP series will probably be more complete than the CCIE Written Exam book. But, a good way to focus your study may be to just go through the ccie written book, and then research the topics that you aren't as knowledgeable in, as the actual contents in that book are not deep enough for the exam itself, but they do represent a good topical guide as to what is actually ON the exam.
5/26/2008 9:44:29 AM
^^ yeah, the doyle books are pretty much networking canon. plus what robster said.
5/26/2008 11:43:03 AM
Ive been told numerous times that the CCIE written is a cumulative exam of all 4 CCNP exams. Is this true?I just gave up on MPLS until I can get a better understanding of routing. That being said, Im starting on the BCMSN exam now. CCIE written by June 09.
5/26/2008 1:42:10 PM
BCMSN's not bad, that books tough to read in some chapters, but give me switched networks any day.viva la layer 2
5/26/2008 3:29:47 PM
Yea its definitely not that bad compared to services oriented routed networks, but the position I have been hired in to is heavily switched and a lot of wireless. So meh, I figure what the heck ya know!
