I love civ games

The ultimate "just one more turn" game, where 10 pm turns into 3:30 am in a snap

BTS adds a whole lot of new stuff that makes it worth the extra cash (or download if you're like that)

some highlights:
- 6 new technologies...some of them split up old techs for better flow, others add new wonders, etc
- 5 new world wonders...great additions like penalties for other civ's war weariness, early diplomatic victories, etc
- 2 new national wonders...including the moai statues that give hammers to water tiles
- 6 new buildings
- 15 new units
- new promotions for air units
- 10 new civilizations
- 6 new leaders for existing civilizations

i seriously can't speak highly enough of the game...i played the shit out of warlords and was blow away how BTS changed the game

Don't forget corporations. Although I'm not really crazy about those to be honest.

Corporations are pretty fun if you can leverage them correctly. At very least, the metals one can really boost national production. When I'm goofing off a bit, I like to set up a second corporation, a food one for example, and then spread it throughout someone else's empire to drain their funds.

yeah, corporations can be good - for example we were on a map where no oil popped...so i founded standard ethanol and was able to get oil into the high production cities and make jet fighters, destroyers, etc when the other side only had airships

Are the expansions for civ 4 worth a buy? Theyve gotten good reviews, but what do they add to the gameplay?

I'm anxious to get this. I played Civ II maybe twice, but I LOVE Civ III.

Any chance they're going to release a Civ IV complete anytime soon? I got the Civ III complete for $40 and it was well worth it.

I'm just not looking to spend $40 on the game and then $20 a piece on expansion sets.

you can get Civ IV, Civ IV Warlords, ands Civ IV Beyond The Sword for $60 total on Steam right now

Warlords was worth the buy

Beyond the Sword is even better than Warlords

the expansions are definitely worth it

I bought the original game and downloaded the expansions.

Bad... I know. But I just don't like the idea of paying more for a game I already paid for if I don't have to especially if I don't know exactly what I'm going to get for it. I don't know if Warlords would have been worth paying money for but BTS adds so much more to gameplay with new wonders, technologies, and tons of new mods and scenarios. I probably would have paid for that one if I had known what I was going to get with it.
