I have a year old rottweiler that im thinking of bringing back to raleigh for this upcoming school year. Are there any places you guys would recommend ? Under $500 a month for rent.

something close to NCSU. I'll be a junior this upcoming year.

i'd recommend either falcon ridge, apt of westgrove, kensington park, centennial village, clarion crossing, ivy commons, or lake johnson mewsthats what i consider "close to campus"[Edited on May 10, 2008 at 3:52 PM. Reason : pick one of the ones on my list that allows dogs]

don't pick lake johnson mews. they have horrible management and are terribly overpriced for what they are.

what is lol about that?i dont know many apartments students live at that are more than that much with roomies...i'm gonna be in a one bedroom paying 485/month soon
5/10/2008 5:07:00 PM
must be a pretty crappy apartment thenthe majority of the places i looked at were around 700 for a one bedroom$500/month is totally reasonable for each share of a 2 bedroom if you have a roomie (i.e. the whole place is $1000)
5/10/2008 5:32:15 PM
i wasnt planning in getting a one bedroom. 2 bedroom minimum, 3 bedroom max. Are there any good places for dogs that are under 500 ?

even if you find a place that allows dogs, having a rottweiler will make it more difficult. A lot of places allow dogs, but ban dogs like rottweilers, pit bulls, dobermans, etc. Does he clearly look like a rottweiler - i.e. pure breed? you might be able to fudge it and say he's a mutt or something
5/10/2008 6:48:23 PM
yea, he's a purebreed.

oh thnap, dnl's pissed
5/10/2008 10:14:09 PM
not pissed i just cant stand how that queer is like "well it must be a shitty apt!!!1...all the ones i've priced are 700 billion dollars even with 3 roomies"and i dont mean to sound homophobic, its just when i know someone is a fag i like to pick on them on tww about being gay...ask wolfood98[Edited on May 10, 2008 at 10:16 PM. lol black people and neck necks

lolno, these aren't near ncsu, as the vast majority of the ones near ncsu are of substandard qualityi'm talking about in cary... which is like 5 miles away.one bedrooms around $700 are pretty much the standard. two bedrooms are like $1000 (so $500/each) and three bedrooms like $1200 (so $400/each)i don't see what's so unreasonable about those pricesand yes, i looked at places around ncsu (kensington, avery close, lake johnson mews, wildwoods, etc.) and didn't like any of them

more like lake johnson JEWSamirite?

If you are trying to find a place with roommates not only are you gonna have to find a place that allows dogs like that, but also roommates who are ok with it. I know if someone showed up here with a dog like that I would be placing a call to my landlord immediately so keep that in mind as well.

because in my situation the landlord would have to decide between the new tennant who brought the dog, or the other 3 who would move out if the dog stayed
5/11/2008 5:46:06 PM
paranoid much?
5/11/2008 6:18:49 PM
why the fuck would you let someone with a dog move in if its gonna cause you and 2 others to move
5/11/2008 6:26:47 PM
My point exactly, all Im saying is if he is lookin for roommates just because the apartment complex allows animals doesnt mean the random roommates he may be living with will be ok with the idea. Most people can deal with small dogs, but large dogs not everyone is ok with.
5/11/2008 8:44:57 PM
oh so is your delimma that your landlord will move someone in that yall dont want? is that legal?
5/11/2008 8:45:51 PM
this isnt my dillema... read the original post lol
5/11/2008 9:16:38 PM
oh my bad...dnl's reading comprehension ftl
5/12/2008 9:12:45 AM
why would you want to torture a dog of that size by keeping it in a college size apartment?you must be a great owner
5/12/2008 9:21:46 AM
if they ask you what kind of dog he is, just say he's a mix. and if they press further mention some random dog breeds and throw rottweiler in at the end ^ yeah thats true. thats a big ol dog for such a little place. how often would be be ran?]
5/12/2008 9:40:18 AM
a lot of larger dogs are actually better apartment dogs.

if it doesnt bark, and you're clean...ivy commons doesn't "allow pets" but they never check in on you.
5/12/2008 7:17:15 PM
Same for Dominion Walnut Creek. My roomate had a German Shep and my girlfriend had a Rotty that was over most of the week. They dont really check up on people, even know maintaince was fully aware of the pets. And no animals were allowed on the lease. They tried to stiff me in the end for about 500 for new carpet, but after a week of bickering I threatened to get a lawyer and they backed off. Shoddy management overall, but mediocre/decent place with a nice pool. Lots of people do have dogs there, near the lake etc. I think a one bedroom runs roughly 650.
