Forget Obama vs. McCain for a second, people aren't realizing that they are losing seat after seat in congress right now in areas that WERE heavy republican. It's a terrible sign.

fuck the republican partythey knowingly brought sexists, racists, homophobes, and virtually every other kind of bigot under their tentthey are inseparable from nearly all fundamentalist religious bullshitthe only things they are correct about are also supported by independents, libertarians, or sometimes liberalsso, there is no reason to be in the republican partynonewell, not unless you still dream of a white male christian worldif only there were a republican party grave I could piss on(btw, ron paul is a republican in name only - he's really a pro-life libertarian)
5/7/2008 10:21:03 AM
The GOP has dug its own grave in pandering to the religious right for the last several years. Those of us who are moderate right of center republicans would rather vote for moderate democrats rather than nutjob neocons.
5/7/2008 10:26:27 AM
republicans LOVE deficit spending, just more interest rich people earn on America's debt (treasury bonds) - while destroying the economy for the lower class (trickle down... my ass!). Republican gov't = wider gap between rich and poor

I hope we give Libby Dole the boot this fall. GTFO of NC you transplant.[Edited on May 7, 2008 at 10:29 AM. Reason : a]

The GOP has the disease...the libertarian wing has the cure.

5/7/2008 11:18:19 AM
The GOP has dug its own grave in its unapologetic support of fiat money for the last several decades!

The GOP has been on its last legs for a few years now. The only problem was that up until this point, the opposition was so badly organized that they failed to really capitalize on this. If you all don't remember, the Democrats barely pulled off 2006 and that's only because the Republicans did just about everything wrong.
5/7/2008 12:29:21 PM
It bears repeating. My last point is exemplified by Hooksaw in the Rev. Wright thread. Look at him trying to push that shit like it's all that's out there and relevant. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

9 million new registered dems versus 2 million less registered repubs...
5/7/2008 2:18:05 PM
fuck all the faggots that want to be TSB mod then make a bunch of shitty threads and get stoned and forget their passwords and create alias accounts]
5/7/2008 2:19:16 PM
everybody panders. repubs to bible-beating midwesterners and libs to the tree huggers and less fortunate. they both make me sick to that regard. lets just not act all high and mighty that the dems dont also have many of the same flaws if you sub in some different nouns.
5/7/2008 2:20:02 PM
5/7/2008 2:20:51 PM
they havent even been in charge of congress for the lastoh wait, theres a republican president, so that explanis the dem congress lack of doing anything100 hours!]
5/7/2008 2:21:32 PM
5/7/2008 2:22:30 PM
Bush is still the President. There is no way in hell anyone can blame the Democrats for the failings of the Bush administration.
5/7/2008 2:23:56 PM
100 hours! Pelosi will get so much shit done!
5/7/2008 2:25:39 PM
I'd like to see a conservative non religious right party. one that is economically conservative and socially moderate. And one that actually gives a shit about the middle class.
5/7/2008 2:31:00 PM
at least mccain supports stem cell research..thats all i got to say
5/7/2008 2:31:48 PM
yeah, i wish the libertarians actually stood a chance...well libertarians minus the crazy
5/7/2008 2:33:32 PM
if McCain selects Jeb as VP. the GOP could win.
5/7/2008 2:46:16 PM
Yeah becuase McCain associating himself with the Bush trademark looks to be real successful huh? Oh well, fuck it...why not appoint Jenna to senior campaign spokesman too.
5/7/2008 2:53:16 PM
Well, luckily for the GOP there is only one thing the American public hates more than a crazy neocon, and that's a whiny liberal. If history shows anything, it's that the zealotry of one side of the aisle will quickly be trumped by the incompetence of the other.
5/7/2008 3:09:21 PM
I'm sure that someone made a thread exactly like this in 2004.
5/7/2008 3:28:34 PM
There was definitely one in 06:message_topic.aspx?topic=349133Incidentally, it was pretty spot on... was it not?
5/7/2008 3:49:33 PM
Well Prawnstar it's nice to see you think in such a broad color spectrum.

^ Schwarzenegger said something along the lines of the GOP would be able to pick up 10% more of the vote if they took one step closer to the center instead of just being the polar opposite of the Democratic party.
5/7/2008 4:42:10 PM
^I would hope that would be the case. Unfortunately, the American electorate is made up of a large percentage of idiots.I just saw a poll that said of those who named the Iraq War as the #1 issue in the campaign, only 28% could accurately answer very easy questions on it (ie-number of casualties, how long we have been there, etc).
5/7/2008 4:51:38 PM
5/8/2008 1:54:22 AM
i kinda agree with that^ actually...in my opinion the only thing really keeping clinton alive are racist whites that wont vote for obama[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 1:56 AM. Reason : that quoted comment]
5/8/2008 1:56:03 AM
Voting for Obama is like letting a black guy in the fraternity. He might "speak well" and "seem cool" but come next semester he's going to bring all kinds of niggers to the house to rush. You don't let ants get inside your house. Its much easier to keep them at bay than it is to get rid of them once they've spawned in your storage closet.Snap the fuck out of the "i wanna live in my parents basement" mentality and start voting for sound economic policy instead of hippy bullshit that the Democrats pledge their allegiance to.No educated person would support George Bush in principle, its just that Democratic policy is so flawed that the world is better off delaying gay rights than they are shutting down profitable businesss. I'd rather vote alongside rednecks than liberal scum that can't see the forest through the trees. [Edited on May 8, 2008 at 2:39 AM. Reason : a]
5/8/2008 2:36:17 AM
Why not economically conservative and socially liberal?
5/8/2008 3:46:35 AM
rallydurham, thats probably the most ignorant white trash thing I've read in the soap box. You make so many presumptions and combine so many off base and bullshit ideas that my head spins.your post is worthless.
5/8/2008 1:39:17 PM
yes, but i like this part
5/8/2008 1:46:24 PM
I remember the time I got Rallydurham so pissed off at me he road to the chancellor's house all coked up thinking I lived there.
5/8/2008 1:55:15 PM
that part is ridiculous too. I make a salary above an arguable middle class line, have minor investments, own my own home, and could give a shit at the extra 1K or so I'll pay if a Dem takes office. Some of us give a shit about things beyond our own tax return. You know, some of us believe extra spending will make the country a stronger place. You can label it evil, socialist, latte sippin', i dont give a fuck. I see it as an investment in areas this country needs help with. After all, take a look at where your precious administration has gotten us over the past 8 years. Mr. 28% himself. You know it's freaking tax that is the only reason the repubs even have any younger ranks whatsoever. The allmighty dollar. That's fine..... but fact is...it's bullshit views like rally's that turn more and more potential party members away with the dinosaur mentality.
5/8/2008 1:55:27 PM
the problem is that democrat welfare policies have been proven not to help those they are trying to help
5/8/2008 2:04:08 PM
But today's GOP isn't proposing any viable alternatives either.
5/8/2008 2:06:06 PM
