I am an engineer minoring in poly sci for a law school resume booster. I have to take

3 courses 300 level and above
1 seminar course 400-500, any listed with an S
1 course minimum from 3 sub fields

Pair A: American politics/policy & administration (course number middle digit 0 or 1)
Pair B. International affairs/comparative politics (course number middle digit 3 or 4)
Pair C: Political theory/social scientific methods (course number middle digit 6 or 7)

Any help with some courses would be great, i'd like to take another this coming semester. I am currently in PS 335 with figgins.

I would avoid taking anything with Pavlik. Take one of the theory classes instead of research methods for pair c.

I took 362 with Solari..best PS class EVER and easy A too

Really enjoyed classes with Dr. Greene--class discussion and commentary is hilarious and entertaining
Dr. Ross-Edwards--she actually teaches a class on Sports Policy that is interesting and fun. (I took it as my seminar course)

Definitely stay away from Dr. Pavlik..
Dr. Taylor is okay depending on the subject matter..
stay away from Dr. Struett if you can--he is REALLY boring..
Dr. Moog is HARDCORE--he is good, but will work your A$$ off!
Dr. Boettcher (sp?) is also good, or so I have heard (he teaches a seminar course..437 I think?..I have heard good things)

One thing I would definitely recommend is taking PS 205 Law and Justice..you will discuss actual case law and briefs..if you enjoy that course it is probably a good sign that you will enjoy law school and do well, if not, then you might want to seriously question your commitment to taking on 3 years of law school.

My favorite classes and professors:
PS 310-- Public Policy with Stephen Greene
PS 345-- Gov and Pol in the Middle East with Dr. Moog
PS 341-- European Politics with Helma DeVries
PS 437-- US National Security with Dr. Boettcher
PS 236-- Issues in Global Policy-- Dr. Mitin wasn't the best, but he wasn't terrible either.

My least favorite classes and professors
PS 371-- Res Methods in Political Science
PS 231-- International Relations (mostly because Dr. Clifford Griffin is a huge douche).
PS 361-- Intro Political Theory-- Dr. Kessler is afraid of technology and loud noises or absences at all.

i'm a computer science major with security concentration and i took PS 331 (US Foreign Policy) and PS 437 (US National Security Policy) with boettcher for it. loved both classes... don't know if that helps at all.

ditto. was my advisor before and gave me some bad academic advice.
i had greene for 201 which persuaded me to switch my major and now he's my advisor.
also beware when taking advice about kessel/kessler. it's easy to get them mixed up.
imo anything with greene, cobb, or boettcher. they're all fun during discussions
i'd recommend:
302 w/ cobb- campaigns & elections
331 w/ boettcher- us foreign policy
341 w/ wagner if he's still here. very fun & informative
371 w/ simons-rudolph was an easy class that doesn't get much attention. you go to class & play on the computer, do a few assignments, and write a paper at the end.
437 w/ boettcher- us national security

Greene is great. Moog is probably one of my favorite teachers/professors of all time. Savchak's classes are ~easy. Avoid Pavlik. Griffin is not a good teacher.
