Model # 42HDF52. Purchased 2 years ago for $1,718.00 - I know it isn't worth nearly that now. Works flawlessly and is currently mounted in my den if you'd like to preview it. I am looking to get $850.

Well seeing how one can find a 720p 42 inch new for less, good luck selling. Also wasn't there a thread earlier about how bad of a brand Hitachi is with HDTVs?[Edited on May 4, 2008 at 5:23 PM. Reason : ]

you should look at the current market for 42" 720p TVs - during some specials you can get a 1080p for less than what you are asking
5/12/2008 10:28:26 AM
495
5/12/2008 11:39:58 AM
this will never sell for $750 or above..you're stupid for trying

Resolution 1024 x 1024 Display Format 1080i .........................Price might be a little high. What problems did people have with this tv?^^^Omar, feel free to give me an example of a 1080p for under 750.[Edited on May 12, 2008 at 2:06 PM. Reason : .]

^First off, that is a no name TV. Secondly, it is HD Ready, not an HDTV with built in tuner. Keep trying. Furthermore, it is refurbished, which means that it was returned for some reason - odds are it was broken at some point. Mine has never had a problem and is in like new condition.

better yet, go to dealcatcher.com and run an HDTV search.http://www.dealcatcher.com/?search_word=hdtv&view_type=4you will realize that i'm offering a very fair deal. you can look at new prices and refurbs and be more educated before you take a no name "HD Ready" tv that has been refurbished and try to tell me that i'm over pricing this tv.
5/12/2008 3:51:16 PM
^^^^SVisa....since this is one of your first posts, I won't make you out to a complete moron, but "Akai LCT42Z6TM 42 inch 1080p HD Ready LCD Monitor - Refurbished" isn't exactly of an example of a New, Plasma, HDTV I know you tried hard, but there is no prize for "almost".[Edited on May 12, 2008 at 3:51 PM. 5/12/2008 3:51:23 PM
^^^^yeah but Hitachi is constantly rated some of the worst TVs; so how is that better than a no-name.
5/12/2008 3:53:08 PM
no way, Hitachi's HDTVs are pretty good.
5/12/2008 3:54:35 PM
^^^Drunktyper I'm glad to see you think you are a season pro, but I think when Omar made his point he said nothing about a New, Plasma, HDTV. He just simply said a 1080p TV. I'm glad to see you think SVisa a 'complete moron,' but he found a 1080p TV and read the thread just fine, moron...^I wasn't sure, I just remember reading some bad things about it. If that's the case ignore it then.[Edited on May 12, 2008 at 3:59 PM. Reason : ]

Did you read the thread? Go play in traffic or put your dick in a blender. He was trying to give an example of what Omar thought he could get a new 1080p plasma tv. Thats why he quoted me...

Hitachi is a solid TV. I think my price is a fair price. There is no reason for all of you to argue about the TV. Either you are interested in the TV and should post, or you should keep all of your comments to yourself. This is classifieds, not chit chat. i am not trying to sell it for more than I bought it for - i am asking about 43% of what i paid for it just two years ago. I think it is a solid play. You can come view it for yourself. I have two Hitachi's because they are a great TV at a very reasonable rate.Search for the model number on google - Hitachi 42HDF52 42" HDTV Widescreen Plasma TV - 42HDF52. It is still selling new for $1,250. $750 is quite a fair deal. ^Who cares if we hijack, no one is going to buy this at $750 anyways. It's a free bump.
5/12/2008 6:37:10 PM
this thread was hijacked as soon as you put the ridiculous price why would anyone compare a new tv price to your 2yr old tv - you haven't even listed the # of hours the tv has been used - nobody cares about # of yrs of ownership...best buy current adhttp://www.plunder.com/Best-Buy-05-11-2008-Complete-pp-01-32-pdf-download-132360.htmbrand new 720p plasma for less than your current "lowest price" - page 23 of the circular - it's a 13mb pdf file so dialup beware you also didn't list the # of HDMI inputs so i'm going to assume it's 0...the only one that most people really care about for HDTVs - the one i listed has 2[Edited on May 12, 2008 at 6:51 PM. They have a free classifieds site called http://www.craigslist.org which has a much dumber customer base.

is this thread broken to anyone else?

I'd let it go at this point for $750.
5/15/2008 3:56:21 PM
if you get desperate and want it gone i'll go 400 for it.
5/15/2008 4:55:47 PM

well for one that marantz isn't a 1080p as was suggested by someone above, its only 720p. and its a refurb. and its was was probably manufactured around 4 years ago. its also the exact same price as this one (with shipping). i'm not saying i'd buy this one, but i surely wouldn't buy that crap]
5/15/2008 5:18:31 PM
i certainly think mine is a solid name brand and the picture speaks for itself. come by and see.
5/15/2008 9:40:21 PM
^^I wouldn't either, but the comment was made that the TV was a no-name brand. Which is certainly not the case.
5/15/2008 10:32:05 PM
I got a rear projection Hitachi HDTV and it kicks ass. Rear projection is the way to go. Big screen for cheap.
5/15/2008 11:21:38 PM
i'm not really sure what the giant public hard-on for 1080p is.....except in tv's 50" and larger i'm pretty sure the human eye can't distinguish the difference in picture quality between 1080i and p at viewing distances greater than 7' or so ...so for a tv in this size range, i'm not sure that 1080p makes a difference to the average person (unless you're sitting abnormally close to the tv or simply need some sort of piece of mind)....and unless you're running blu-ray/hd-dvd or a game/other source that's 1080p, it won't make a difference anyhow....the vast majority of the HD I watch (despite having both those movie formats) is TV, and the native resolution (at least for now) of every cable providers' HD channels is 720p/1080i
5/16/2008 12:18:01 AM
^^ hitachi plasma i can't speak for, but hitachi rear projection lcd i can say was far from impressive. my former roommate got one about 2 or 3 years ago (hopefully they've improved) and we had it less than a week before calling BB to come get it. the greens were shifted almost shadowing the reds and blues, it sucked balls at going to black, etc. like i said, hopefully they've improved.Douche Bag, it looks like the wrath of TWW classifieds has consumed your thread. Have you had any luck with craigslist?
5/16/2008 1:13:15 AM
how much did this go for?
5/28/2008 10:51:11 AM
750 - i threw in the tilting wall mount and hdmi to dvi cable. i thought it was a pretty fair deal. i'm loving my 50" 1080p w/ 3 HMDI now [Edited on May 28, 2008 at 3:56 PM. Reason : ]
