There may already be a thread about this, if so pls 2 lock. In any case, the primary is coming up to determine which republican will challenge David Price for a congressional seat. On one hand, you have Augusto Cho: http://www.choforcongress.com/Appears to be a fairly mainstream Republican, and you can see his positions on the website. There's also B.J. Lawson: http://www.lawsonforcongress.com/Seems like more of a "Ron Paul" republican. I have no idea who is ahead in the polls or whatever, but Lawson is someone I could support. Should be interesting to see how it turns out. I'd love to see David Price get the boot.

my thoughts from another thread....BJ Lawson is running against Augustus Cho to decide who goes up against David Price in the fall.Lawson is basically a Ron Paul republican. Excellent on the issues but lacking much charisma in my opinion.Cho is pretty much an old-school republican. Pro-Iraq war, pro-drug war, Pro-patriot act etc. While I don't agree with alot of Cho's positions, he is a much more dynamic candidate. He can give an impassioned speech and exudes alot of energy. A welcome change from the weak mumblings of rep. Price. If we could transfer Cho's charisma into Lawson, we'd have a terrific libertarian-leaning solution to the 4th district's election.Granted, state legislators have carved up the 4th district to be Price's private fiefdom for life, but I think we could pry him out of there with a little luck.

Is Cho Asian? If so, electoral history has shown that a non-American surname hurts in primaries with voters that aren't familiar with either candidate.Ultimately, it doesn't matter, Price will win re-election.[Edited on May 4, 2008 at 12:57 PM. Reason : /]

I found out I actually lived in the gerrymandered 13th district - literally just a few blocks outside of the 4th. So, guess I wasn't able to vote for Lawson, even though I wanted to...This happen to anyone else? (In general - i.e., being placed in a weird "thin district" out of the precinct of your choice.)

I voted for Lawson. Kinda surprised he won..being a libertarian and all. That kinda made up for the embarassing fact that Huckabee beat Ron Paul without a single ad. But we must keep in mind that the 4th district was re-drawn specifically to keep David Price in office...so it's gonna be an uphill battle.

I had lunch with Mr.Lawson a few month ago. Great guy, We will be much better off if he is elected.
