So I'm waiting for an oil change and the guy next to me has a baby that can't be more than a year old with her ears pierced. Just seems way too early for that stuff. What's next? Baby tramp stamps?
5/3/2008 1:25:18 PM
Diapers with "Juicy" and "Tasty" and "Babalicious" written on the butt.
5/3/2008 1:26:52 PM
it's not a big deal
5/3/2008 1:28:59 PM
^^^You aren't a girl and apparently didn't have any sisters.[Edited on May 3, 2008 at 1:29 PM. Reason : -]
5/3/2008 1:29:14 PM
my girlfriend has never had her ears pierced. i kinda like it
5/3/2008 1:30:14 PM
I like earrings. More than 1 on an ear is too much for me though.
5/3/2008 1:32:14 PM
if you ask the ladies, it's normal to have them pierced as a child. My dad said no to it so I couldn't do it until I was like 14.
5/3/2008 1:32:42 PM
I think it's kind of sketch to have kids with pierced ears, my sisters and I weren't allowed to get them pierced before we were 13
5/3/2008 1:44:25 PM
Any place that'll do 'em on a little kid will make them nasty and uneven. My mom waited until I was 12 then forced me to have it done at the Drs office! Fuckers made them uneven as hell and hurt like a mofo then they got infected. wait until the kid asks for it, then needle piercing FTW. I had to get a second set to make how uneven the first are less noticable. I'm considering a third as well, or just a 3rd in one ear for the same reason.
5/3/2008 1:45:44 PM
1. Thank god I'm not a girl2. What does it matter? The baby didn't choose it. Her parents did.
5/3/2008 1:50:49 PM
I do not see an issue with it... It is actually easier to get thier ears pierced when they are little because they cannot feel the pain as much as when they get older. Kind of like how our parents use to prefer for us to get chicken pox before we got too old to be able to scratch (even thought now children are suppose to get vac against them..lmao). Anyays, I had mine pierced by the age of 2, and they are fine to this day.
5/3/2008 1:56:49 PM
5/3/2008 2:00:36 PM
5/3/2008 2:01:14 PM
^so how many piercings do you have?
5/3/2008 2:02:53 PM
not as many as you
5/3/2008 2:05:18 PM
...is trashy! I don't like it and it's soooo "mean" to the child. *sigh* I didn't get mine til I was like 10 or 12 or something. But I think any time after they are a few years into school is good...but 10 is the prime age! But dah well! I happened to hear/see a baby getting her's done...she screamed sooooooo loud! OMG
5/3/2008 2:20:14 PM
I got my first holes done when I was two, no problems. but then again, I now have 10 piercings in my ears/face.[Edited on May 3, 2008 at 2:52 PM. Reason : it's not mean, it feels like a pinch. seriously. ]
5/3/2008 2:52:10 PM
maya is getting her ears pierced and she is about 12 weeks old. I can't help it if you lust for one year olds.
5/3/2008 3:06:30 PM
The baby can feel the pain just as much, they just don't remember it. Piercing guns are extremely dangerous and unsanitary. Wait until the kids is older and can get pierced at a shop that does needle piercing instead of that gun shit.
5/3/2008 3:51:54 PM
okay, good point about the guns. they're not too horrible if it's just a lobe piercing though... I had a cartilage done with a gun when I was 15 and it took about 2 years to heal. I had a much bigger industrial done (another cartilage piercing... two holes) with a needle and it healed within 6 months, even after I smashed the hell out of it on a rollercoaster.

5/3/2008 4:07:22 PM
Its more of a cultural thing. My people have their girls' ears pierced way before they are 1 yr old, but we don't have photos of our half nude 15 y/o daughters in a magazine either.
5/3/2008 9:58:52 PM
The gun in the lobe is no big deal. I've never had any problem with the two in each ear I have, and I've never had any friends with that problem.I don't see anything wrong with a baby having her ear's pierced. Only thing I'd be concerned with is her ripping them out by accident.
5/3/2008 10:03:46 PM
well i think you can tell from the uproar that we dont want to consider that as part of our culture eitherreason #2388484 i fear having a daughter[Edited on May 3, 2008 at 10:04 PM. Reason : f]
5/3/2008 10:04:06 PM
but it is
5/3/2008 10:04:47 PM
part of our culture means it is done by the majority and looked upon favorablythen there is counterculture, which is what this would fall underand then there is anticultureand i only went to that sociology class like 4 times but this was one day i was there

5/4/2008 12:13:22 AM
i think my mom and her friend got drunk and took me to go get my ears pierced when i was a baby. but then one of the earings fell out and they didnt notice it until it had closed up. so my mom took out the other one, but that one never fully closed up, and you can still see the hole if you look at my ear. then my mom wouldn't let me get my ears pierced until i was like 10, but then i only wore earings until about highschool. now i almost never wear earings, the backs of them really bother me. [/end story]

Girls ears, fuck that! A good percentage of young boys have part of their dick cut off soon after they pop out of the womb.
5/4/2008 8:51:19 AM
^^So I'm a rare person to have 4 perfectly fine holes in my ear?
5/4/2008 9:00:26 AM
i think it looks tacky and trashy when babies have their ears pierced.
5/4/2008 9:40:12 AM
I think getting your ears pierced should be a choice. Doing them on kids or babies isn't wrong, but I would probably wait.
5/4/2008 11:36:13 AM
It really does look trashy when really young babies have their ears pierced. Why the rush, let the kid get em when she wants em.
5/4/2008 11:43:53 AM
5/4/2008 12:32:57 PM
I actually got mine done when I was 9 months old. The only issue with it getting it done so young is that your hole is higher up and not really in the middle like the normal ones.
5/4/2008 12:39:01 PM
5/4/2008 12:54:14 PM
I am pretty lucky took me about a span of a few months to get my ear piercings healed and the one in my cartilage about 6-8 months to heal
5/4/2008 1:10:21 PM
5/4/2008 2:15:32 PM
5/4/2008 2:46:51 PM
lol, i've never had an ear done with the needle except my industrial. i know the needle is definitely better. and in spite of 8 piercings total done with the gun (i took two out), i still have a giant ring in my lip. apparently, i wasn't traumatized enough.
5/4/2008 3:08:10 PM
5/4/2008 6:06:19 PM
trashy
5/4/2008 6:10:22 PM
I think the little gold bracelets are pretty pointless. I mean, they're babies: they like to pull things, they twist jewelry, they're going to break it.
5/4/2008 6:14:56 PM
5/6/2008 4:44:15 PM
I thought this was crazy too, til i found out my mom had my sister's done at 6 months to avoid the hassle of the pussying-out factor when they get older.
5/6/2008 4:46:11 PM
piercing a girl's ears when she's an infant is bad.but cutting off part of a boy's dick when he's an infant is a-ok.gotcha.
5/6/2008 4:49:15 PM
^ you don't really consider those equivalent, do you? if so, we might as well stop here
5/6/2008 4:51:10 PM
both are done for purely aesthetic reasons.and not they're not equivalent. Circumcision is far worse.
