someone gonna get fired so bad for that

you should never count on cops to save your life, they are under no obligation to do so. they are only responsible for safety in general, not for any one person.

Like doctors, 911 operators just bury their mistakes.

Here's wut:"police are not legally obligated to protect you under just about any cirumstances"Re-read it over and over until it makes sense.Cops are simply not legally required to protect any single individual, regardless of a 911 call from that person.[Edited on May 3, 2008 at 12:20 PM. ^^ The supreme court has ruled on more than one occasion that the cops are not obligated to protect any one individual that their job is protection of the public at large.Examples of such rulings include:Castle Rock v. GonzalesSouth v. MarylandBowers v. DeVitoand others

I'd like to see the transcripts. I wonder if this will turn out to be case of Boy Who Cried Wolf where the Madison 911 service received a long string of crank calls from the University of Wisconsin, so that when an actual call came in, the dispatcher just assumed it was another fake call.

5/3/2008 2:29:42 PM
that's find, but you get my drift.
5/3/2008 2:38:13 PM
Then what the fuck is this"only responsible for safety in general"?you won't get a clear line like; this applies to >= 5 people. But also, if i'm being mugged, that means that THE GODDAM PLACE IS GENERALLY NOT SAFE. The only way that this rule world work, that they can turn down helping anybody for any reason, is if there's some implication that they would never make that decision for just any reason. This "in general" sounds an awful lot likePolice are only here to protect the government.

Police try very hard to protect people in need/danger, but when seconds count it takes us minutes to get there . we just cant be everywhere. I wish more people in this modern society had a survival instinct to fight back. If the police were not dispatched its not there fault, if the dispatcher is found to be at fault after a fair examination of the facts then they should be held accountable in some way.

Apparently, blaming 9-1-1 is cool when the cop's ass is in a sling:Officer blames 911 in lack of aid for victim

when seconds count, police are only minutes away

^ 0.02 % of rapists prefer you armed?
5/4/2008 2:12:23 PM
you mean 0.200%? (that figure is obviously highly scientific -- get it right)anyway,I guess they like a challengelike robbing a gun store
5/4/2008 2:24:43 PM
So thats the big reason for the lack of man rape?
5/4/2008 5:56:41 PM
No, because it legally doesn't exist in NC.
5/4/2008 6:09:33 PM
My friend woke up to find this behemoth of a fat girl trying to have sex with him. Is this not rape??
5/4/2008 6:34:24 PM
in NC rape is defined as penis insertion into the vagina everything else is sexual assault
5/4/2008 9:27:31 PM
also, most rapists don't arm themselves. There's a huge difference between what you'll get having a gun and not having a gun. Also, there's no good reason you would want to use said gun. Also, the girl can take the gun and use it on you. Also, you were probably planning on being able to overpower her to begin with, or else it probably won't go so well. Many use fake guns I hear though.
