soi am an asshole, and thanks to the magic of computers and drop down menus, etc, I accidentally booked a hotel for the day AFTER I actually need it. it was also booked online, so there was a non-changable/non-refundable policy attached.realizing that there is a 95% chance I am eating this hotel cost, has anyone had any success with getting this remedied other than by brute force calling the reservations center and working your way up the obnoxious supervisor chain?i have the contact info of the actual physical billing dept for the physical hotel, so im emailing them, but just looking for other tactics I might be able to useim dumb, just to get that out of the way.

try calling the hotel directly, talk to a manager.

I'd call the hotel and hope that you get in touch with a nice receptionist. You can try to chalk it up to an error on the part of the system and ask them to please help you out.

well thats what i meant by the billing dept of the physical hotelmanager cant do anything it would have to come from billing in the b&m hotel itself

I did this one time with an airline ticket. Bigtime mistake especially since I read through the preview page before the payment went through. I had to eat the cost but took it on the chin because of my own stupidity.

If it makes you feel any better I booked a flight to Raleigh for the wrong weekend in October 2 years ago. That sucked.

hotels are usually pretty liberal about their refund policies (far more than the airline industry), so I'd give them a call and see if they can help you out, especially since you just want to move the reservation a day forward.
