Some special on ESPN yesterday. I just caught the tail end, and did not catch a name, embarrassingly enough.anyone else see this though, and perhaps, know who it is?I just like the NC state love on espn, even if its outside of football.

That's great! I don't think this is that uncommon though. I saw a report a long time ago talking about the former college athletes that joined pit crews. I imagine a good football player would have a lot of the things you'd want in a pit crewman; quickness, strength, agility, coordination, and able to stick to a rigorous workout routine. I'd like to know what position on the crew... it's hard to imagine a wideout as a tire carrier or gas man.

^he was the tire changer, not sure what its called but he blasts out the lugnuts, and puts them back on, then slides around the car and does the second tire. 13 seconds....pretty impressive!

did anybody see that thing on sportscenter a few days agowhere the driver ran over one one the foot of some dude on another pit crewso the dude popped the driver in the headfucking hilarious

Yeah the driver deserved it b/c not only did he run over that guy's foot I think he ran into him or one of the other pit crew members prior to that. But I bet the punch hurt the pit crewman more since the driver had a helmet on.

the pit crew should know not to get in the drivers way.its like the rules of the roads we drive on.if you're in the road, you're gonna get hit.and its your fault

The guy wasn't in the driver's way. He was in the marked off area beside the wall that sometimes has different colored pavement. He was just sitting there changing the tire and he gets hit in the back by a F1 car. Then he gets his foot ran over a few seconds afterwards.

This is why Id love to see an IMDb-like site for college and pro athletes. Would be a cool way to do a "where are they now?" or "where did they come from?" query, assuming said database would be accurate and extensive.
