They're trying to win an election? How dare they!
4/29/2008 6:27:38 PM
the GOP going to ride that race line as hard as they fucking canit's a pretty dangerous game they're playingi'm interested to see how it all turns out
4/29/2008 6:29:05 PM
Campaigns play up the other side's mistakes all the time. I can think of Sen. Allen and his macaca statement, when Richard Petty bumped a car out on 40 when he was running for Sec. of State...sometimes the best thing you can do is to sit back and allow your opponent to win the race for you.
4/29/2008 6:31:54 PM
what mistake did Obama make?that he was born black?
4/29/2008 6:33:29 PM
That his pastor and close confidant of over 20 years is an anti-American rambling nutcase.
4/29/2008 6:34:27 PM
so... that's he goes to church? that's his mistake?
4/29/2008 6:35:05 PM
i'm pretty sure americans are not gonna fall for this and still vote for a dem
4/29/2008 6:35:13 PM
It's the church he picked to go to. Or are you insinuating that the black church in general is as batshit crazy as Rev. Wright?
4/29/2008 6:36:34 PM
besides you're deviating from the original point of the thread, that the GOP is going to connect Obama with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to stir up racist sentimentsthey know white people don't trust AL and Jesse, that's why they've been keeping such a low profile latelybut the GOP is going to try as hard as they care to make Obama = Al and Jessejust watch
4/29/2008 6:36:56 PM
4/29/2008 6:36:58 PM
^^^i'm not insinuating anythingwhat are you talking aboutshould Obama not go to church?[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 6:37 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2008 6:37:33 PM
honestly i think people are just gonna vote against the war and economy
4/29/2008 6:38:02 PM
^^^I don't think the Democrats are going to do any such thingthey want race to be a non-issue[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 6:38 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2008 6:38:16 PM
^^yeah, cause that totally what they did last time
4/29/2008 6:39:31 PM
I have read numerous editorials lately about the "racist media" and the "racist attacks on Wright / Obama".This thread is a good example as well, considering that it's pretty clear that you are misinterpreting Galen's comments to paint the GOP as race baiters.
4/29/2008 6:40:42 PM
the GOP are and will be race baitersthey are the right wing party, IT'S WHAT THEY DO
4/29/2008 6:43:02 PM
Obama should go to church, of course. He should do a better job of picking the church he attends, and one that isn't ran by a raving attention whore of a lunatic. As for connecting Obama with Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, I think you're reading too much into that. This guy is saying that they are more mainstream, perhaps, and he should use their prowess to distance himself from his pastor.
4/29/2008 6:43:38 PM
yeah, okI would like to introduce you to the last 30 years of race politics
4/29/2008 6:44:25 PM
You're crying wolf in order to use race to your advantage, not the other way around.
4/29/2008 6:45:31 PM
no, I'm doing no such thingI just want to point out what Is going to happen up till Novemberjust watch[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 6:46 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2008 6:46:19 PM
4/29/2008 6:47:48 PM
two of the people in this thread title are two of the most notorious race baiters in us politics in the last 10 years...neither of them have anything to do with the GOP, to say the least
4/29/2008 6:48:35 PM
yeah they arebut they are NOT Obamathat's the point
4/29/2008 6:49:10 PM
but you said its what the GOP does and i was pointing out that Al and Jesse are basically the opposite of the GOP
4/29/2008 6:49:54 PM
4/29/2008 6:50:19 PM
^^I don't give a shit about Al and Jessethe GOP is going to try to attach then to Obamato raise up the sentiments that YOU JUST EXPRESSED in votersthat's the entire point[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 6:52 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2008 6:51:05 PM
^^oh, I knowit's going to be fun
4/29/2008 6:51:45 PM
You are misreading the statement by Galen. He is saying that Obama should encourage black leaders not to throw fuel on the fire of this Rev Wright media mess.It is actually very good advice.
4/29/2008 6:52:18 PM
i'm not misreading anythingall I see there is blah blah blah Obama blah blah blah Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.you're going to start seeing a lot of that in the future
4/29/2008 6:53:38 PM
so nastoute, you're basically saying the GOP is going to race bait until November...by tying two of the biggest race baiters to Obama
4/29/2008 6:54:31 PM
yes
4/29/2008 6:54:40 PM
ingenious
4/29/2008 6:55:47 PM
4/29/2008 6:56:26 PM
I don't care what the quote says, this thread has nothing to do with it nor does it have anything to do with Reverend whoever....this was said by a GOP strategistthis is a legitimate examplethey're probably not going to be overt about it[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 6:58 PM. Reason : .]
