Sorry if there is another thread I had a package delivered from Crate and Barrel to my apartment, three boxes of photo frames. It was signed for Tuesday by someone that used the same last name as my neighbors. Funny thing is, my neighbors didn't sign for it. I rent from them, so they'd be honest if they had gotten the shipment. If UPS delivered it to someone who wasn't authorized to sign for a package for me, do I have any ability to contact UPS to refund the amount that I paid for what I ordered? Or anything I can do from the Crate and Barrel end so that I don't loose out on the money or the frames.

i may be wrong, but i think legally if a signature is required it must be the signature of the recipient unless permission is otherwise given by the recipient. Im not 100% on this, but I think its just a rule they never follow because it makes there jobs easier and rarely turns into a problem for them.

Just call UPS customer service and tell them you want to file a claim for a package you didn't receive. They'll tell you what to do from there. Most of the time they'll handle it, sometimes you have to call the company you bought it from. I've had to do this a couple of times for lost packages.

I had a simailar issue with FEDEX. You need to take the issue up with Crate and Barrel. any issues will have to be handled by them. Since they shipped it, it is their responsibility to ensure that you receive it.
