i have tried and tried to take a link or two out of my watch to make it fit, but can't get the pin(s) out.where's a good, cheap place to take the watch and get it done?

my citizen eco-drive has pins that are a huge pain...i ended up using a sewing pin, though, and that did itotherwise...dakota watch company kiosk in crabtree would probably be your cheapest bet...or take it back to where you bought it, they'll usually do it for free if you can prove you bought it there[Edited on April 25, 2008 at 12:08 PM. Any jeweler, I use to take most of my stuff to weatherman's next to darryls/pr's but they closed.[Edited on April 25, 2008 at 12:10 PM. Reason : .]

Yeah, sewing needle or pin and a small hammer worked easily for me, just put some sort of cushion on the bottom side so I'm not messing up the finish on the watch. Are you sure you were pushing it out the right direction?

^ maybe that's the problem....so you're saying I need some cushion for the pushin'

Took my watch to Sears. They have a whole watch repair counter. Cost me like $6 I think.

Buy yourself a pin remover, simple to use... where are you, I can do it

The old watch guy at the flea market does stuff like that for free. He's indoors and is actually a pretty cool old guy.

Get a thumb tack - or something that you can punch through it - paper clip will sometimes work.Look on the inside of the bracelet, and there will be arrows on most Guess watches....Push the pin in the direction of the arrow.... make sure after you remove them, you put it back in the same way you pushed it out (with the split end opening toward the arrow). Or, you could just take it to a jeweler

Walmart does this for free.

Walmart does everything....is there any business left for others to do?
4/26/2008 1:48:46 PM
they don't always do it for free, esp. if you didn't buy it there. unless they have stopped caring.

^^ nope, went to WalMart this afternoon and they said they don't do it anymore for watches purchased elsewhere.... liability i guess

I definitely second the flea market. Cheap and good. I think mine was $1.
