4/22/2008 7:20:39 PM

4/22/2008 7:21:06 PM

4/22/2008 7:22:27 PM
psh. Tejada did Tejada wrong.
4/22/2008 7:23:33 PM
the steroid shit, yesbut saying you are two years younger to help get out of shit country where you are dirt poor... blah, people have done much worse
4/22/2008 7:25:50 PM
i laughed out loud during the braves game the other day when they showed the birthdates of Rafael Furcal over the past few years. He has had 4 different birthdates on the team roster in like the past 6 years or so. Anywhere from like July of '77 till December of '80

defrauding a multi-million dollar entity into believing you're 2 years younger than you are, in an industry where age directly effects your performance and your pay... that's pretty fucked up as well.tons of guys have bailed out of that shithole country... without having to be a liar.[Edited on April 22, 2008 at 7:28 PM. Reason : idk about steroids... i thought it was B12!!!!!!11]
4/22/2008 7:28:37 PM
but its not like you have to solely go by age to view performance... you could go by I dont know... performance? there were tons of black players in the 50s who had no idea what their birthday was, same for lots of white country players.was it wrong to lie? sure, but it was also wrong for espn to trick him to an interview and then spring the shit on him and a lot of other players have done a LOT worse shit. And something tells me that most major leagues teams know to add/subtract 1-3 years from a lot of Latin players[Edited on April 22, 2008 at 7:33 PM. Reason : d]

i'm still bitter bc Tejada fucked over Palmeiro hardcore.no sympathy for him. he's a piece of trash.
4/22/2008 7:34:12 PM
lol how dare they ask controversial questions during an interview
4/22/2008 7:34:17 PM
if it was understood that the interview was about the controversial subject then sure, fair game... but to say its about one thing just to trick them to be there and then throw evidence out on camera... fucked up"hey J_Hova! lets sit down on camera and talk about your huge jersey collection!""sure""so... is it true you did _____ one time? we have proof and here it is on cam!""fuck"[Edited on April 22, 2008 at 7:39 PM. a dude in the butt
4/22/2008 7:39:15 PM
I think it'd be funny if TWW had an age maximum like you had to be under 30 to postand Jaybee and others would all be like Tejada was
4/22/2008 7:39:55 PM
AWESOME!
4/22/2008 7:40:47 PM
I don't care but it seems to have lit a fire under him and he is my starting SS!
4/23/2008 12:05:19 AM
that guy thought he was barbara walters or mike wallace or some hard hitting journalist who asks tough questionsbut he's not asking somebody who got off a murder trial if he really committed the crime, or asking the leader of a country about something controversial...he's asking an athlete about his agego ahead and crown his ass for the pulitzer or whatever the fuck award is applicable^word up, 4/5 tonight and last night [Edited on April 23, 2008 at 12:08 AM. 4/23/2008 12:08:17 AM
I think he's had plenty of time to come out with his real age and nobody would've given a shit

Two Words:Julio Franco???Julio César Robles Franco (born August 23, 1958, in Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic) is a Major League Baseball infielder who is currently a free agent. In 2007, Franco was the oldest active player in the major leagues at the age of 49.[Edited on April 23, 2008 at 8:59 AM. Reason : SP]

I thought it was fucked up too cause it seemed like an normal interview, then clearly it turned. The guy doing the interview looked like a total douche too. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying what Tejada did is ok, but I think there are better ways to go about calling him out than surprising a guy in an interview with his real birth certificate.
4/23/2008 9:06:08 AM
^^I think he's just saying that it directly affects how much Tejada got paid, not necessarily his performance because there would be a perception that him being older would make him less valuable.[Edited on April 23, 2008 at 9:43 AM. Reason : too short]
4/23/2008 9:43:02 AM
it can be a big deal if you sign him an extension thinking he'll be 38 when he's done with the contract even though he's really 40but tejada also has gone a combined 8/10 with a homer and a stolen base over the last 2 games so it seems like he's playing just fine
