it is. i just noticed it today. i don't typically drive, because I work from home or I fly out of state. A full tank takes me about 3-4 weeks depending if I'm not on the beach the whole month. so today I fill up to drive to Fort Lauderdale. GAS WAS $3.96/GALLON for 93/Premium. We're fucked. I couldn't even imagine having to drive everyday and deal with the costs. That's like another bill. WTF ????
4/21/2008 6:27:11 PM
how much more a year is that for you
4/21/2008 6:29:08 PM
i don't understand the question. ^
4/21/2008 6:30:45 PM
Wait, so you are telling me gas is expensive?
4/21/2008 6:31:32 PM
according to the government, the economy isn't doing well because we aren't spending any money
4/21/2008 6:31:47 PM
yeah. its fucking nuts. i had no idea it got so high.
4/21/2008 6:32:06 PM
in the grand scheme of your yearly expenses, how much of a difference does it make for you$20, $40?$200, $400?etc
4/21/2008 6:32:26 PM
America really let herself go I'm too embarrassed to even look at her anymore.
4/21/2008 6:33:28 PM
4/21/2008 6:40:36 PM
i think this is how I've had money for so much other stuff that I didn't need was because I never had weekly fuel costs.
4/21/2008 6:41:19 PM
only $3.37/gallon down here in SC
4/21/2008 6:42:49 PM
economy is always good if you're flippin keys of that shit
4/21/2008 6:45:25 PM
A few years ago it was around 1.50. Now it's 3.50. Say it takes 15 gallons to fill up, thats $30 more dollars. On average if you fill up 4 times a month, thats $1,440 more a year. What really hurts is the inflation gas prices cause on everything else.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 6:49 PM. Reason : 1000]

^ding ding ding....
4/21/2008 6:48:31 PM
Democrats wanted to make gas cheaper in 06, but I guess the magic wand quit working.
4/21/2008 6:49:27 PM
on a related note, I didn't know gas was like 3.40+ in '81.
4/21/2008 6:51:59 PM
^ was it? if it was than this shit will blow over. i hope so. its really causing people to be fucked. if I had a long commute to work or school, like I did in NC it would suck.NC is the type of place where you HAVE to drive.

i wish it would go higher5$ per gallon should be the minimumless tahoes please
4/21/2008 7:05:07 PM
4/21/2008 7:05:45 PM
well not really $3 but adjusted for inflation. And NC has one of the highest gas taxes so that doesn't help either.
4/21/2008 7:09:59 PM
yeah but the thing is that gas itself has a huge effect on what a "2007 dollar" isif it causes inflation, that ain't so good either
4/21/2008 8:50:45 PM
^^ that's cool and all, but really, the price of gas before like 1950 is simply irrelevant.Different economies, different infrastructure, different worlds.
4/21/2008 8:54:49 PM
ya know, its still relatively cheap considering what it takes to get it out of the ground and into your tankshit, Coca-Cola costs more per gallon and its just fuckin water and sugar
4/21/2008 10:28:49 PM
THE ECONOMY IS FUCKED AND EVERYONE IS GETTING PREGNANT!!!
4/21/2008 10:30:41 PM
honestly the price of 20 oz mountain dews is making a bigger dent in my quicken pie chart than gaswell i dont spent more on sodas, but the price increase versus how much i buy, thats hurting me more. i havent changed my standard of living much at all, though (because of this "economic crisis") -- i got rid of some showtimes and i'm about to drop a cell phone line, but thats just an effort i'm making to throw 200 bucks a month extra into my 'personal' (non-matched) IRA now that im off probation and shit]
4/21/2008 10:33:39 PM
Well Bush is about to slap a 600 bucker check in your hand in May so don't fuckin worry about it! That'll pay for your gas!

drove to the office today. it's so inefficient. traffic alone is not worth getting up before 9am. it's so much smoother when you leave home after 9am.

I live in one of the Top 5 largest markets in the US and the public transportation system ONLY is useful if you work in the city. A million+ people work outside the city and need to drive. I have no way to get to work other than driving. Plus Californians love there cars...** Actualy the second largest market has the most craptastic public transport system I've ever seen...
