how do i remove this? my laptop is plagued with viruses. the Lavasoft Adware locates it, but won't remove it.

i'd recommend an antivirus program like symantec or mcaffee or bitdefender or trend micro

this virus disabled my Symantec. i can't get it to re-enable.

try booting the computer with the symantec CD in the drive (if you have it) and using it as a boot disc

or go here http://www.symantec.com/norton/security_response/index.jsp and scroll down and on the right click 'Symantec Security Check'

it should run a scan and hopefully clean/delete/quarantine the virus(es)

Try downloading the SpySweeper with Antivirus trial and updating it, then running that in safe mode with the "Sweep for Rootkits" option enabled under the custom sweeps. That will probably get it, can't remember for sure.

Seriously, viruses CAN be removed, it's not always necessary to format

But I concur about the porn
