what do you mean shorter?
4/17/2008 8:00:18 PM
If you drink water from a fountain and there are two, the shorter water one is colder most of the time.
4/17/2008 8:01:00 PM
It's used less often so the water is chilled for a longer period before use.

oh shorter, as in lower to the ground . . . as in the handicapped accessible one.

they generally only have one tank, at least most of them that i have had to take apart/ put together

I always use the shorter one on the assumption that less germ-ridden people use it.
4/17/2008 9:22:31 PM
children are less germ-ridden?
4/17/2008 9:29:00 PM
Very few children in office buildings. But you're right, all water fountains are nasty. When will this height segregation end?
4/17/2008 9:54:20 PM
segregation was so silly.

I wonder if water fountain companies lobbied for the Americans with Disabilities Act to compensate for their loss of business due to the end of segregation?

I dunno, but my dad said they spent over $15k on the handicap spaces, wheelchair ramps, etc. when they built his office building and the only person who ever used it in over 15 years that he was there was the Pepsi guy who was pulling a hand cart full of drinks.
