The .35 gas thing reminded me of this.

Back in the day the BP on hillsborough/gorman car wash would work if you typed in 50918. I know I told at least 20 people about this and probably got my car washed there 30 or 40 times. I remember the line used to get soooo backed up (like out on to gorman) I thought hundreds of people had to know it.

The finally caught on and changed it but I had been using the code for at least 6 months by then. I wanted to make this thread to see if anyone else knew about it, or any other stories about an acidentally free/retardedly discounted thing getting out of control.

^ agreed. i knew three different ones that worked on that machine.

are you sure you werent reminded about this by the section at the bottom of the $.35 gas thread that talks about the code for the car wash at the BP on hillsborough street. seems sketchy, more investigation needed

I still wish I would have known about it

At that time I was going to the do it yourself carwash on western. It seemed more expensive then, compared to the cost of gas.

all i know is the crown right there across from the BP and now a snoopys used to be the BEST place to steal ice for parties...because the ice machine wasnt visible from the counter, so you'd buy a bag while getting some beer or whatever, and be like my friend is loading it, and then meanwhile he'd be grabbing 10 or 15 because they were bundled in packs of 5

One of the first "touch free" car washes in Rocky Mount that had a very very very weak method of creating the codes. I could almost always guess a working code on the first try and I think the most it ever took me was three tries.

wow, forgot bout this. Back in HS we knew the code to the BP on creedmore. Most of my friends used it when they didn't have anywhere else to smoke. I actually had a nice car back then so it came in handy

i had a clean car for at least a year or two.

Used to know the code for the car wash at BP on Hillsborough Rd in D-town; the code definitely got passed around left and right to the point of overcrowding, which was eventually a red flag. If it would have stayed more low key, it could have lasted indefinitely, but eventually some people got in trouble from what I heard....and yes a drive through car wash is great for in a pinch.
