Thats what I wanna do to this 8 hr PITA.

I missed a few of the wed. night sessions, and going back over the problems in e490. How hard was the general section for mechanical engineers? I know the pass percentage was the same between general and mech. discipline, just wondering if its like the AM section just with more problems.

afternoon was harder for me. ( took general not ME even though i was an ME). I felt good about the morning (felt like i got 70-80%) and i felt TERRIBLE about the afternoon. I thought i was lucky if i got half right, but i passed.

It is similar to the morning, but the problems are more difficult and there were problems from some topics that weren't on the morning section. My morning section didn't have any ethics or spreadsheet problems, but the afternoon did. My biggest problem in the morning and the afternoon was doing the probability and stats since it had been forever since I took that class.

You get a big booklet in the afternoon that has every disclipine specific test as well as the general. So I just skimmed through the general section and the mechanical section to see what looked easier and I ended up going with the general because I didn't want to deal with the kinematics and vibrations and shit.

Not as much as I wanted to, mostly going to the FE class. I did go through all of the math and I skimmed some of the other sections. I took the sample test in the back of the prep book and have been looking over the answers for those questions. Right now I am going through the problems we went over in the FE class again hopefully that will be enough to pass.

im just pissed because im going to be out $130 if i don't pass

im planning on taking it in the fall if i don't pass i guess, and study this time

Thanks for all the info, CTA and honda. I feel better about it now. Been studying the past couple of days, about to finish up covering all the stuff in the 490 packet that supposedly should have been covered in class. How did the people who've already taken it do on times? I'm a slow test taker and that one of the main things I worry about is just running out of time.

I'm in on this fun.....Though the FE prep books I have tried the practice tests in have kicked my ass. I'm hoping for good luck in guessing!

my only advice to everyone is to TRY EVERY QUESTION

dont skip one, or guess an answer because it looks foreign to you. They spell all of the variables out pretty clearly in the problem statement, its just a matter of taking the time to find the correct equation in the book they give you.

I barely studied, and didnt take any of the prep courses and passed on the first try. Half of the people in there just guessed answers for the 2nd session

Not bad at all. Based on the problems in the FE Review Manual, I was expecting a much more difficult test.
