It never works out as well as you'd hope.

On a side note, I listened to the roots come alive like twice through on the flight home tonight.

that's excellent news pilgrimshoes.
I have so much Roots music, that I can't possibly fit it onto one CD (even an mp3 CD).
luckily, I realized my my car receiver has a USB port, and I can just plug a flash drive into that. I'm going to fill up a 3GB one full of Roots music and be good to go!

it's possible... just need a camera with audio controls.

Usually that means it's not going to fit in your pocketbook, however.

can you plug the ipod in using the usb?

yeah, I think that's the real meaning for it being there. If you have your ipod plugged into the USB, you can control it all through the receiver, the ipod, or the remote control

but I just tried to plug in a flash drive the other day, and it worked just fine. it read the folders and songs...and displayed the names on the receiver faceplate.

I was pretty happy about that....it means that I'm never going to burn another mp3 CD again.
or on long road trips with friends, I can just tell them to bring their ipod or a flash drive with their favorite music on it
