people going through there with beer, or ordering cigarettes there..

not really getting the point of using the self checkout if you're gonna have to go deal with the cashier. i can come up with no other reason except that these people enjoy annoying the rest of us.

the only problem i have with self-checkout is when people go through them with like a full cart of stuff. shit takes forever.

I only accept this when it's late at night and the self check out is the only lane open

that's my beef with it. it's supposed to be a quick checkout but those people tie up a spot for ten minutes. i also hate it when someone goes through with a bunch vegetables or fruit that they have to sit there and weigh.

Going through with just beer or something isn't that bad if you want to avoid these people in the regular lanes. I know I don't want to have to wait 20 minutes in line just to buy a six pack

yeah thats something else that i dont get... why go through that line if you're gonna need a cashier anyways?

i guess they want practice at scanning shit

^they have express lanes for your one item. self checkout should not require a cashier in any way.

the express lane gets tied up for the same reasons though. overall, it's much faster to use the self checkout for one item than to wait in line in the express lane

i can haul ass threw a self check out so i kinda understand why ppl go through with a ton of shit--in asheboro ppl are too dumb to realize those lanes without people are actually ones you can use, so the tend to be the only ones open

but yeah, people sitting there scanning one thing, looking at the screen to make sure its right, stepping over the bag, putting it in all careful, then wandering back over to scan something else really get on my nerves. i'm usually like throwing shit through there. if it didn't have that bullshit scale setup at most checkouts where it senses when you put an item in the bagging area it'd be way faster for me though

ignoring the "self" checkout part, in my opinion, is the same as ignoring the "10 items or less" rule

^ on that point, it always makes me laugh when i leave to show the person my ID and someone walks up to my station thinking it's open and then looks confused when nothing happens haha

I agree with this. If you want beer and cigarettes fast, you go to a place called a convenience store where you pay like 50 cents extra to be able to run in and get your booze and smokes in under 3 minutes.

plus cigarettes are like 20000 times cheaper at the convenience store. i got 6 packs of smokes and a 12 pack of mountain dew for 15 bucks today

camel lights. at the store down the street, they're 280 a pack when you get 2 packs.

but today they had the buy one get one free, so i got 3 of those.

yeah right "The Judge." last time i bought a 12 pack of bud at a convenient store it cost me $11.99. that's a hell of a lot more than a $.50 cent hike

beer is cheaper than gas? really?

Guess it sucks to be you guys because I'm going to keep buying my beer at the self checkout lane. Whats that, another 30 seconds to flash my ID to the cashier over seeing the self checkout lanes? Or no time at all if they don't want to see my ID? I swear you kiddies will find the littlest things to cry all day long about.

you can get 3 40s for less than 4 bucks, so beer is cheaper than gasoline

think about it, thats 10 beers for less than a gallon of gas

I wonder if the grocery store agrees with you. Then they might do something radical like not allow alcohol purchases in the self checkout lanes.

man you cant even vent about something on wolfweb anymore without some douchebags coming along saying that you won't stop bitching about it.

^its not like they stop grandma from bringing 50 items into the express lane and writing a check

120 ounces = 0.9375 gallons

if gas is $3.25-$3.30 per gallon around here, gas is still cheaper

pwnt by the math gestapo

so basically beer and gasoline are roughly equal

this does not change the fact that its ridiculous to cry over dollar beers
