So i was tryin to come up with a project to pass the time when i move out to bumfuck Tennessee, I considered a small sports car, like a TR6 or MGB, and it fell right into my lap.I was cleaning out some busses full of old parts at my grandpa's shop, and came across a good condition long block with original heads. What might you ask would an old dirty engine inspire? Well it was 427 side oiler. What would be the perfect car for this rare engine?Thats right, I'm going to build an AC Cobra kit car next year. Researching chassis and bodies now.

Damn that is a nice find. Factory Five seems to be the best kits around. They are based on any 79-93 mustang used as a donor.

I'm gonna set a budget of around $25,000, $12k for the body and chassis, $10k for the driveline, $2k for paint, and $1k for random stuffabout 2 years of building, and this will be me look for a build thread in about 6 months to a year[Edited on April 1, 2008 at 3:41 PM. Reason : ]

i want one with a kb'd 4v and t56. there's a silver one that runs around the wade ave./ridge rd./dixie tr. area that sounds NASTY. i dunno what's in it, bbf i assume. i was about to ask him at the ridgewood 66 one day, but he cranked it and burned rubber before i could walk over.[Edited on April 1, 2008 at 3:52 PM. If I didn't have a great engine like that 427 laying around, I'd go LS1 (even though the kits are bolt in for ford stuff)

^ only difference would be the bellhousing

I have one with a cracked head and have been offered 25k for it.... (<3 my vin) but you may want to check its history and sell it for another project. anyway i have some parts laying around if you need anything 3 sets of pistons 2 sets of rods and soon to be 1 good and one crack spare set of heads.
