well every spring i start the radio control thread.Friday nights, Tractor Supply Co. Parking lot in Fuquay varina, big get-together.arrive around 8:30pm. track sectioned off, track is marked and is blown before we hit the pavement. Its free and just a get together more than anything. I broke the suspension on my f1 car last time but I have no spare parts, now I will have plenty.I'm taking my tc4 with a 13 turn motor next time. My ex race car. I'm really not sure if I will actually race any more
3/30/2008 2:46:12 PM
figuresit will rain all week once i put a car together
3/30/2008 8:51:33 PM
i have a Matrix .40 ARF kit and a Goldberg Edge 540 ARF kit (.60 size)i have a radioi have a Supertigre .51, a Supertigre .90 with a Pitts-type muffler, and an O.S. 1.20 4-strokeyou do the math.(grandfather sold out his shop...I think he might've pulled aside some stuff for me...but I know at the very least I have this stuff that I need to get ready to fly).
3/31/2008 1:50:11 AM
I'll have the NTC3 out there....Anyone want to buy 2 almost fully built TC4's with some random spares?I've got plenty other stuff for sale as well, I just need to get home to copy/paste my list.
3/31/2008 8:12:00 AM
I was thinking about putting a couple gliders/electrics back together to break the monopoly slalom skating has on my hobby time.
3/31/2008 8:18:35 AM
I've got a heli I need to sell... I can't remember any specs on it right now though Other than it was way too expensive
3/31/2008 8:55:40 AM
i never know how to answer 'how much does that car/truck/airplane cost?" because the kit itself is not that much, but extra parts, electronics, and so on does add up
3/31/2008 5:44:03 PM
yea, exactly...and a heli + any mistake = $$$$$
3/31/2008 5:55:14 PM
yepand most people i've seen with them spend about as much time fucking with them as they do flying them. i've always just stuck with the airplanes.
3/31/2008 6:16:01 PM
yea next thing i get will be a plane or car or well..anything other than a helijust too much trouble for not enough flying time until you get really good
3/31/2008 6:17:39 PM
off to fuquay gonna take lots of pictures tonight also
4/4/2008 6:55:49 PM
well shit nobody came outmust be because it is supposed to rain later onoh well
4/4/2008 8:35:18 PM
Well my post has been deleted... I went by the hobby shop in high point and they have the Traxxas REVO 3.3 for $459 and that's exactly what I was looking at online already. That cost is very competitive for a brand new unit and they want me to bring my heli up there and they're going to see what they can do.. the heli has some damage to the rotor blade from a bad landing last time so in the end i'll probably end up selling it on craigslist or something instead of to the hobby shop. i have a feeling they're going to low ball me pretty badanyways, point being is i went and looked and confirmed what i want edit: the model heli I have to get rid of is a "HIROBO EAGLE FREYA" it comes with everything needed to fly--starter, fuel, remote, gyro, some replacement parts, etc[Edited on April 5, 2008 at 2:09 AM. tomorrow night looks like it will be nice, so come down to Fuquay.
4/10/2008 8:34:48 AM
i've got my nitro tc3 running today its going out tonight
4/11/2008 5:30:08 PM
That Aston Martin is not mine, its a 1/8 scale OFNA. Lots of power but the guys that have them need to practice actually driving. They WILL knock you around if you let them. [Edited on April 12, 2008 at 8:54 PM. Reason : words]
4/12/2008 8:53:07 PM
looks too expensive for me
4/15/2008 8:48:55 PM
dude, i pwnt some of those 1/8 scales a few months ago with my NTC3.It's all about driving skills.
4/16/2008 1:20:12 AM
more like knob turning skills, mirite
4/16/2008 11:50:18 AM
yup those ofnas are pretty but the guys with them really do need to learn to drive, like I said they WILL run in to you/off the trackmy ntc3 should be able to lap all but one car out there this friday
4/16/2008 5:06:40 PM
just won a new engine for $45 shipped, guy has his auction labeled wrong but thats the best on ebay i will have 2 nitro tc3s running next weekend hopefully. one with a single speed and one with a 2 speed. With identical powerplants also
4/17/2008 5:01:48 PM
what kind of engine?I have an OS .18 in mine and it flat out screams and will idle FOREVER without a hiccup.
4/18/2008 4:09:33 PM
Anyone want to buy my Duratrax Vendetta ST? Its pretty bad ass. timed motor w/ heatsink, ball diffs front and rearl. Steel axles in the rear. lots of spare parts, etc.$175
4/19/2008 12:05:02 PM
4/19/2008 10:18:46 PM
I'm going to get Ferrari decals for my unused F201 body and paint it up right this weekso much to do
4/20/2008 12:40:45 PM
I just took my 1/8 scale Jammin X1 CR out for a while. Was having a blast until I stripped the gears in my Airtronics 94257 steering servo (metal gears).
4/20/2008 5:26:13 PM
grrrrr i hate when you don't hit anything and stuff just stops workingfunny thing is you can hit something HARD and nothing will be affected on the caror you can love tap something and break a suspension arm
4/20/2008 6:30:28 PM
Yeah, I honestly didnt even hit anything at the time it stripped.A few weeks ago I was getting some SICK air and just basically bashing this car and it held up like a champ.Yesterday I was just easily driving it around and it stripped.
4/21/2008 9:28:05 AM
im lookin at building another hpi but i dont want to buy it new. cl doesnt have much to offer. you know other places i might can find one
4/21/2008 9:36:00 AM
You looking for an onroad car? I'll cut you a great deal on my nitro TC3...i have enough spare parts to almost build 2 extra cars...And trust me, I've spanked EVERY car out in Fuquay with this NTC3 in the past few months, so it's definitely a monster on the track.
4/21/2008 10:51:24 AM
on road. im not into jumping stadium trucks. i know its money but im lookin for something with a 2 speed for top end [Edited on April 21, 2008 at 11:12 AM. Reason : rc cars ftw]
4/21/2008 11:10:28 AM
you want something you can legally drive drunk?
4/21/2008 2:06:04 PM
tnezami does take care of his stuff I can attest to that, and its fast, plus of course he KNOWS how to drive as wellI already have my new engine, it shipped on the 19th from CA and its here already. I was not expecting it so soon. So I have all week to break it in before Fuquay. I feel like this may be my last signifcant rc purchase*of the year*yeah rightbut maybe for awhilealso 'top end' does not necessarily mean a two speed. Final gear ratio in 2nd gear is all that would matter, 2 speed will get up to speed quicker but not necessarily be higher in top speed. Remember the fastest rc cars are electric brushless single speed set ups with lipos. Even a single speed nitro could be faster if the gearing is set up for it. So it depends. but generally a 2 speed is better for getting up to speed. you wil NEVER REACH TOP END ON ANY TRACK WITH A NITRO CAR for more than like a second maybe. Go to Fuquay, it seems sort of lenghthy, but brother ain't no way tnezami or myself can get top speed on a nitro tc3, not enough room.also I highly recommend joining http://www.radiocontrolzone.com forum section and reading up on whichever car you want to get. I can tell you that a nitro tc3 is so easy to get parts for, even check ebay. HPI nitro RS4 kits are a major seller to and I recommend them if for parking lot and NOT for racing. 4/21/2008 5:24:25 PM
is a two speed easier on the motor or no?[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 5:38 PM. Reason : thank god for buttseks and spell check]
4/21/2008 5:29:42 PM
4/21/2008 5:30:43 PM
^^no this makes no difference in being easier on the motor. However a single speed set up would 'weigh' less, thus making the car weigh less and technically that could affect the motor's work it has to do to move the car. The drivetrain does suffer a little with a 2 speed and a 2 speed does have a one-way bearing that must be considered.I am building my car with a single speed tranny anyway. My friends car has a 2 speed and I just don't see the reason to spend $40 for the upgrade. My car is the original RTR without a 2 speed.
4/21/2008 5:32:08 PM

why are you selling? not racing anymore I assume. I am interested in some stuff like tires but I don't NEED anything.
4/21/2008 9:57:22 PM
Yeah, onroad never was my thing. It's definitely fun, but I prefer offroad...I thought i'd get into it, but since getting my Jammin X1 CR, i've been reminded of how much I used to like offroad.I'm trying to sell some stuff off to buy a motorcycle too
4/21/2008 10:55:30 PM
I am looking into RC sailboats. what do yall know about them?
4/22/2008 12:14:22 PM
so the motor I bought NEW in a BOX on eBaydidn't work for me, so I did some research, took awesome pictures, and with 3 DAYS LEFT on the auction it is already above what I paid for it with shipping
5/8/2008 9:20:47 PM
why didnt you like it?If you want a cheap motor, check out GO! tech engines. Cheap, reliable, and are wicked fast.I got a .18 3port for my 1/8 scale and it's insane.
5/8/2008 9:29:29 PM
no I would use it except the output shaft is too short for a two speed set up. Its actually for the RC10Gt, and by labeling it as such, I have increased the 'value' on eBay. I didn't set a reserve either.http://cgi.ebay.com/TEAM-ASSOCIATED-AE-15-PULL-START-2900-RC10-RC10GT_W0QQitemZ220232441603QQihZ012QQcategoryZ44028QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 9:42 PM. 5/8/2008 9:42:58 PM
I made a mistake. My .18 is in my NTC3 and is an O.S.I have a .21 Go! Tech.I cant find link at the moment. There's a thread on rctech.net or hobbytalk.com about them.[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 10:06 PM. Reason : .]

KC Hobby in High Point isnt the WORST hobby shop I've ever been to.They actually have a decent selection of parts, and carry enough racing gear to have kept me happy while I was in high school and racing R/C's at the track.
5/9/2008 8:11:27 AM
Who wants to sell me there tranny for my RC car?
5/9/2008 10:27:30 AM
What kind of car?
5/9/2008 10:28:03 AM
Oh no, KC Hobby is great. Its the High Point part that Im sorry about
