my girlfriend wants to get a new TV. She wants a flat panel and something near 27" or more. I'm not too familiar with all of these new TV's, so what's a good deal and where? She doesn't need any bells and whistles, HD, or anything like that really.I'm pretty sure LCD is the only way to go for this price, but that's all I know.

I've got the 32" Vizio and it's perfect for me. Never had a single problem with it.

personally, i'd wait until I could afford a decent HD model. i wouldn't bother buying a brand new TV without getting HD.if she needs to buy something right now, i'd buy something used and cheap (i bet you can get a CRT model used for dirt cheap).

i got a olevia 32" at circuit city for around $550 in august. 720p/1080i, though kinda short on the way of inputs and the interface can be a little sluggish, but it has a great picture and i've been happy with it for the money.

+1 for olevia 32" LCD. I've got one I'd be willing to part with for $500 as I've been looking to upgrade to 1080p
