I have never seen a school called by the wrong name more than NC State. Over the years, a lot of users have posted times about people thinking NC State and UNC were the same schools.

i posted something on the scout national football recruiting forum about them having mike glennon as a north carolina signee in their latest recruiting handbook. scott kennedy (one of the guys who does a lot of work for them) wrote back saying that it is just another reason he would like to see nc state written as nc state and not north carolina state.

it would make much more sense if the media would switch to nc state rather than north carolina st. and north carolina state, and whatever else they come up with.

Only other schools I've really seen get confused are USD (made tourney this year), UCSD (Mary Anne Fox is Chancellor), and SDSU (sux as of late). A couple years back every NCAA bracket had UCSD when USD was the actual team that made it.

I thought there was some kind of agreement (maybe media only) that State was to be called NC State only...

i still have relatives that think i go to unc and don't realize it is two different schools. i don't think anything agrevates me more, and as people said that was either thrown together in 5 minutes or done by a middle school kid.

I thought the same thing. Also changed it from "N.C. State" to "NC State".
