alright, i's got a lady friend who's getting her permit, which do you think would be easier to start out on,
a f4i or a shadow vlx? she's not a jump the gas type, so no worries there.

thanks guys.

oh, and i'll be looking for a cbr in about a month or so.
and selling my 02 vlx.

come on guys.....help me out....i learned on a 700 pound shadow....maybe she can learn on a ~400 pound bike. prolly she can.

best would be a lil rebel or somthing Low and light or a ninja 250.

i'm not buying a bike to teach her how to ride, i've got two available, the f4i and the vlx.....unless one of yous guys want to loan one to her for a bit.
i'll let her ride the cruiser....yeah....

oh yeah....it was a '84 shadow, very close to 700 if not at. with full leathers and windshield prolly 700 pretty easy.
twenny years younger and lost a lot of weight......
yet...i liked my old heavy sherry better, i think.

I was thinkin the newerr ones them old one prolly did roll up around 650 plus im not saying they are not. I mean let her ride ur f4i!

I wouldn't put her on the F4i... Even if she's not a 'jump the gas type', its not hard for a bump to cause her to hit the throttle and throw herself off... Learning on higher horsepower bikes is not a good idea.

Stick to something small, and preferably fairing-less. Rebel 250, Ninja 250/500, Suzuki gs500, etc.

Try to find a 250ish on CL to rent or something... seriously, the f4i is too fast and the shadow is too heavy.
