interesting list. i don't doubt some of those cars will be, but it's nothing more than broad speculation imo.

we can't say what people 30-40 years from now will think of those cars, other than they're rare. there's a whole hell of a lot of low production vehicles out there that aren't hardly worth the metal they're made from. then there's a lot of dime a dozen cars that rake in the dollars.

also, i think a lot of those cars will peak in value within the next few years and then fade away.

A guy next door was selling his RS6 for about $35,000 recently. He might still have it.

I think it was the 2001 model (which looks identical to the 2003 model).

Should I get it? I am afraid the real money that I will be spending will be after I buy it, on all the maintenance and repairs.

the prowler is the only sub 100k car that will be of any worth in a coupe generations.

I can see an Integra Type-R, completely unmodified and low mileage, being worth something. especially when everyone our age gets to be in their 60's and end up like the grandpas today who just have to relieve their youth and buy those limited production muscle cars.

i had a reeeeeeally hard time finding a type-r that was in decent condition back in 2001, and after about 7 months, i just decided to settle for the gsr and built up a turbo for it

i still wish i had waited it out, and still love seeing them out on the road

The problem with the type-r is finding one in OEM condition. You can buy an oem s2000 for cheaper.

rarity doesn't necessarily mean value. '68 camaro is not a rare car, yet it is valuable to collectors. it's no hemi cuda though...

Agreed.
The best collector cars will be the ones that people strongly desire today. All these dudes dropping $90k on a Camaro today are just the guys who couldn't afford them when they were 17 years old in 68. I don't know anyone who is trying to work financing magic to get into a 2000 Prowler. If it isn't desirable today it's not going to be valuable tomorrow. The same goes for that pos Chevy SSR, the Thunderbird, and the Beetle convertible.
