If you can get your hands on one, park it and wait.2003 Chevrolet SSR Signature SeriesOriginal MSRP:$41,995 There are only 25 of these vehicles, each with its own unique certified history attached. This one represents Chevy's design exercise gone straight to production.2000 Plymouth ProwlerOriginal MSRP:$43,727 In 2000, which was the last year Chrysler's retro-rod was produced, only 200 of these were made. The 2000 model year will be the collector Prowler year of choice.2003 Dodge Viper SRTOriginal MSRP:$83,795 The most sophisticated version yet of this pure American muscle car. interesting list. i don't doubt some of those cars will be, but it's nothing more than broad speculation imo. we can't say what people 30-40 years from now will think of those cars, other than they're rare. there's a whole hell of a lot of low production vehicles out there that aren't hardly worth the metal they're made from. then there's a lot of dime a dozen cars that rake in the dollars. also, i think a lot of those cars will peak in value within the next few years and then fade away.

viper and miata are the only ones that could half ass make the list

A guy next door was selling his RS6 for about $35,000 recently. He might still have it.I think it was the 2001 model (which looks identical to the 2003 model).Should I get it? I am afraid the real money that I will be spending will be after I buy it, on all the maintenance and repairs.

yes, you should definitely take the advice of some guy writing for kbb.com and BUY! the wrong year too!

the prowler is the only sub 100k car that will be of any worth in a coupe generations.rarity != value.

I can see an Integra Type-R, completely unmodified and low mileage, being worth something. especially when everyone our age gets to be in their 60's and end up like the grandpas today who just have to relieve their youth and buy those limited production muscle cars.[Edited on March 22, 2008 at 10:39 AM. Reason : and for the hell of it, I am going to add a pristine 1995 Rx-7 to the list]

rarity doesn't necessarily mean value. '68 camaro is not a rare car, yet it is valuable to collectors. it's no hemi cuda though...
3/22/2008 11:20:16 PM
I can see the S2000 being the future classic car also. The new Nissan GTR probably will be in the same league.
