Not bad. If I was in the market for a "sport" truck I think I'd pick up a used Lightning, but that's personal preference...

^^^^same here. or a ram srt10.

^trd still offers a supercharger for the older engines. 2rz and 3rz use an alpine unit (who also makes an isuzu v6 sc). the 5vz trd unit is sourced from magnuson.

the truck pictured here is an x runner which has the new 4.0/gr1 v6. nothing from trd for this one that i know of. urd sells a rotrex sourced unit which is TINY but offers impressive gains.

v8 is only in the tundra/4 runner/sequoya.

URD makes a centrifugal and TRD makes a roots style for the 1gr or gr1 or whatever.

word, i didn't realize trd had started offering one. looking at the specs on their respective websites, the urd (rotrex) pwns it by a good 40rwhp probably depending on exact percentage of drivetrain loss.

trd= 304fwhp (sae)

urd= 305rwhp (not sure if that's sae or std)

i would imagine the roots graph looks a lot nicer for the real world though. still, very impressive for such a tiny centrifugal to gain roughly 100rwhp.

so what does this truck do? it can't tow. it can't go 4 wheelin. can't haul anything. has an ext. cab for 5 year olds. it's slow. wtf mate?

Quote :
"think its an eaton, but yeah"

yeah, obviously...since they've got the roots design on lock. doesn't mean they're making it though.

i'd be taking a STRONG look at the urd one though. trd needs to step it up.

when are we spraying the fuck out of it? warranties cover exploded intake manifolds.

1. I have an Escalade that will tow 8000lbs.
2. I have a wheelin truck already.
3. It will haul more than my S-10.
4. WTF does that mean, 5 year olds? An adult can ride in the back easily. It helps if they are short and you are only going a short distance, but yeah.
5. I would have bought a vette, but I cant afford the tickets. This shouldnt be as problematic.

Why do people buy trucks that get 12mpg and are 300hp+ just to compete with a civic si in the quarter mile?

I dont understand the thrill, the entire concept is lost on me.

I hope you havent misunderstood what I am saying. I bought this truck to drive daily for a long time.

Anyhow advertised MPG is 17 combined (I was getting the same in my S10 beater DD, and 11mpg in my Rover before that) but it gets better if it can breathe a little easier. HP is supposed to be 236 I believe. Aside from being a pickup truck fan, I am going to be moving soon, and likely doing some renovation work, so there is much added benefit to buying a truck.

But after all the real reason I bought it, as always is because I WANTED IT. Which is all that matters in the end.

Obviously a 230 hp truck doesn't match my statement.

Which part of 300hp did you not understand?

The first modifications to this truck should be an angled license plate in the tailgate and some neon under the doors. Don't forget that the tailgate must be bondo'd closed and under no circumstances should it receive paint other than primer.

i thought it was odd that a guy with a truck similar to joel's and 30 day tags was driving around dodging small potholes.

oh no, sure as hell wasn't me. i don't take a chance in causing an accident to swerve for things that the government is supposed to have fixed from all the damn hut and other taxes i pay. if it screws something up, then i get new parts at their expense. i've done it in the past.

that does sound just like some joel shit to do though, ahaha. i'm sure it was him. especially if it was further out 70 west, like brier creek-98 area.

he's just tryin to keep his new ride nice though. he doesn't find the same level of hilarity in wanton disregard and destruction of property that some of us do.
