Does anyone know how to attach external drives to the TWC HD DVR? I'd like to get some additional capacity. Anyone tried it?

Just buy an external storage case that will connect through e-sata, put hard drive in case, and plug case to DVR. Reboot, and you should be good.

Its very easy. I added a 300 gig 2 years ago (people are adding much larger now). i dont think I would open the equipment and screw with it (you dont own it)

I wouldn't bother. There was a recent update that has a sleep mode after 3hrs that locks up the DVR when you have an external drive attached. One way around it is to make sure it is always recording.

^ is that on the old model or the new one? is there not a setting where you can disable sleep mode or something?

new model, but all old models will get new software soon.
