i'm in lovei don't know if it's just the fact that i have far fewer extensions enabled or that this browser is just really this fast--AdBlock PlusCustomize GoogleDownload StatusbarDownthemAllFissionIE Tab (might even uninstall)Mouse Gestures RedoxRemember The Milk For GmailTab Mix Plusbut i am fucking falling in love with this browser all over again.[Edited on March 11, 2008 at 6:51 PM. i like it (the beta)only thing i notice is the page up/down and up/down arrows don't work for scrolling hte page up and down sometimes
3/11/2008 7:18:37 PM
^beta
3/11/2008 7:20:24 PM
when am i gonna be able to open things from their location
3/11/2008 7:22:18 PM
i'll probably download it tomorrow to play around with it
3/11/2008 8:05:37 PM
i've been using beta 3 at work and i'm not particularly impressed. the address bar history search etc thing is neat, but it looks awkward
3/11/2008 8:15:15 PM
i hate the large URL drop-downs...i wish i could get rid of them
3/11/2008 8:35:35 PM
How do I make the bookmarks act rationally? If you create a new folder, it doesn't stick with the other folders and you can't arrange them with a right click. WTF.
3/11/2008 8:58:23 PM
i hate how i cant click icons on my links bar to rename them (like i can in ie)

In-depth look at Firefox 3 memory usage and how they made it exponentially betterhttp://blog.pavlov.net/2008/03/11/firefox-3-memory-usage/
3/12/2008 6:00:13 AM
it's very fast
3/12/2008 8:38:44 AM
maybe i'm just retarded but is there no home button? i can't find it
3/12/2008 8:48:25 AM
they moved it to the bookmarks toolbar, but you can move it back up if you want
3/12/2008 9:00:16 AM
^^^^ the memory usage looks a lot better, but "exponentially" so? i don't think so....
3/12/2008 9:46:03 AM
i think it just sound better than "linearly better"]
3/12/2008 9:51:01 AM
give me firebug or give me death!
3/12/2008 11:23:21 AM
my only gripe with firefox is how long it takes to open the damn browser compared to opera
3/12/2008 11:31:56 AM
what computer are you using...and is it a pretty clean install? mine is pretty damn close to instantaneous on all my systems (xp and vista).
3/12/2008 11:45:31 AM
this thing is super fast
3/12/2008 1:15:38 PM
definitely fast.not sure how i feel about the mac os x theme though. definitely better than firefox 2, but my safari look-a-like one was nice too.
3/12/2008 3:31:39 PM
i think they definitely optimized this beta to work better with all of Google's stuff like the new gmail, calendar, reader, etc. - they're all so responsive to this browser now for some reason
3/12/2008 3:34:39 PM
all right, I love it except for the large URL drop-downs. And I don't understand the link dFshadow posted to fix it ...
3/12/2008 4:04:44 PM
^^ thanks for the link, i looked at the firefox plugin page and saw that it worked for up to 2.0 and didn't bother going to getfirebug.com.

i was running some pages today with pretty intensive scripts that normally blow up to 400 Mb within an hour or two and i have to kill it but today it stayed around 150 Mb all afternoon! ]
3/12/2008 6:30:15 PM
i barely played with it today, but anyone know if it'll have PrettyPrint or whatever the hell it's called like on IE7 and Safari?
3/12/2008 7:24:13 PM
thanks dFshadow
3/12/2008 8:00:54 PM
seems a little slower to open than my previous version of firefox
3/12/2008 9:27:53 PM
when is the final release scheduled?
3/13/2008 1:14:44 AM
i just need an update for my adblock filterset.g updater and the download manager tweak, and i'll be good to go. the osx interface has really grown on me.

well I couldn't get the rich URL fix to work for some reason ... so I browsed to config window and changed a setting called "browser.urlbar.maxRichResults" from 25 to 0. my only complain with that is it does not show any results, which isn't too awful.Do you think I could create an entry "browser.maxResults" and set the value to 25? That way I'd get URL results without all the richness?[Edited on March 13, 2008 at 10:36 AM. Reason : ]
3/13/2008 10:16:24 AM
oooo, the "open with editor" command in the right click menu is pretty handy.
3/13/2008 10:36:15 AM
^^ set browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped to true
3/13/2008 10:40:45 AM
shit man, that didn't work either ... I've been reading some discussions, and it looks like in Beta 2, there was a browser.urlbar.richResults field; but that's gone in 4 ... so I know that setting has gotta be hidden in hear somewhere ...
3/13/2008 10:48:03 AM
3/13/2008 10:51:28 AM
yea, after messing around with the config, i've now got firefox screwed up.now whatever setting i change it only shows one richresult and it's the same page everytime... annoying.
3/13/2008 10:55:28 AM
I was afraid of doing something like that, so I reset the fields everytime after something didn't work.
3/13/2008 10:57:13 AM
3/13/2008 10:58:22 AM
yes, i have two profiles set up... it's not a problem, it's just one profile is royally jacked up with this RichResult messi've reset all the entries and it works now... but what I don't understand is why RichResults still comes up even after deleting all the privacy information[Edited on March 13, 2008 at 11:03 AM. so has anyone successfully figured out how to turn off RichResults? all I want to see is the URL history when i click the drop down on the address bar...this is a serious flaw.
3/14/2008 5:39:11 PM
Sorry you think it's a flaw, I like it.I'm sure there will be a way to turn it off in the final version.
