I am looking for summer internships,

Iapplied for a oversea internship recommended by a family friend,

So today, I got a reply back from them,

ben

we will be happy to meet you in (______)

im not sure if you require a document or intend to come as a tourist. we can deal with a work visa if necessary

as to specific marketing/sales training we can offer this

please note my email is .....

john[b]

So what does that mean? I am hired? They want an interview? Keep in mind that this company is thousands miles away in another country so I cannt just causally fly over for an interview....

thoughts??

sounds pretty clear to me

they want you to come interview, its no different than how its done in the states man

they are only seeking an idea of what types of documentation you need for them to fly you over there

Seems a little shady to me. I'd think they would at least call you.

well, the job was recommended by a good family friend and I checked them out throughly so I think they are legit,

So should I respond and ask if he wants to do a telephone interview and yeah I was also unsure what he meant since we have never talked before, but he does have a copy of my resume....

i was thinking of telling him that i would like to secure a postion first before going over and maybe schuled a telephone call with him?

what's it matter if you go over for an interview. The company should pay for it, so all you would be out is a little time.

how can you ask for them to secure your position for a god damn interview dude?

thats ass backwards

all you need to ask is if they are going to pay your expenses and how that is going to work

I highly doubt that this company is interested in flying you out for an interview for an intern position. If I were you, Id do the leg work and answer the question that he raised about the visa issue. You may need to contact the country's embassy in DC/NY and possibly the State Department. In your email answering that question, you can ask a few questions to feel out whether you have an offer or not.

I've been flown around the country for internships... but there was a phone interview first and they were in THIS country... I just got back from Boston on an interview for a summer position and they paid for everything
