What she did was wrong, but why can't our country just mind its own fucking business.

The person with the surveillance footage could've simply reported the incident to the police and then the police could've dealt with it through the state.

More to the point though, that wouldn't solve the problem either, all the police will do is put her in jail for child abuse and give her husband control of the child and split the family up. It would be better to leave the child with the father for a while, but then to require the woman to go through a class on the do's and don'ts of child raising. I'm not saying they should brainwash her, just point out the things like punishment can be a swat on the butt, but it cannot be something like a hose to the face or hitting them with a bat or what have you. Sounds ridiculous, but some people in this country are very very stupid and might need to hear something like that so they don't do it again.

She probably didn't know that was illegal either (or what the punishment could be if convicted).
