Army of Two is a video game developed by Electronic Arts, released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 4, 2008. Army of Two is a two man/squad third person shooter game.Army of Two (AO2 or Ao2) is a co-op third-person shooter with a focus on cooperative and coordinated strategies. Players will join up with either the game's built-in "Partner Artificial Intelligence" (PAI) or other players "to fight through war, political turmoil and a conspiracy so vast it threatens the entire world." Story details are vague at the moment, but the game has been designed to necessitate teamwork; some missions may be close to impossible to complete without cooperation with the PAI. The story is about fictionalized Private Military Contractors characterized as mercenaries.According to GameSpot, the game will allow a great deal of weapon customization. Some guns available for customization include: pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, rocket launchers, light machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers and assault rifles. Such elements as stocks, laser sights, scopes, tactical flashlights, under-slung grenade launchers, suppressors, grip handles, extra-large magazines, ammo variants and new barrels, can be swapped out to give the weapon a unique look. Other modifications include silver, gold, platinum, and chrome plating. Also known as pimping in the game. At a cost of 10,000. Certain types of plating, like gold, will raise your player's aggro meter causing more attention to you. The player will also be able to customize their armor to make it better, stronger and personalized. A firing range feature was proposed that would allow the player to test out their newly customized weapon, however it was removed as it did not meet the developers' standards.According to GameSpot, the mode allows up to four players, two on each team similar to the co-op structure of the main campaign. Both teams will compete over objectives on the map such as assassinating a VIP or destroying an objective in order to earn the most money for their side. At the same time, they will also be forced to deal with the opposing team in order to secure their objectives. In the interview, the developer has stated that "The biggest challenge was to convey the co-op experience in a multiplayer match. We didn't want to go with the typical deathmatch mode. We have a variety of modes that really capture the essence of co-op gameplay. You'll have to watch each other's backs and work together to defeat the opposing team. "With the money you win from matches you can buy weapons just as in the campaign mode, similar to the type of multiplayer shop systems used in titles such as Counter-Strike: Source or more recently, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men's "Fragile Alliance." Character customization for online play also appears to be possible from the multiplayer screenshots taken by GameSpot. The online mode will still take full advantage of co-op maneuvers and offer exclusive vehicles not found in the campaign mode

Let me know.I think co-op games are by far the most fun. In fact, I do not play ANY single player games. Online is cool but ever since double dragon and battle toads I knew my calling in life was to get a 12 pack and a friend and whip some ass.

I'm watching my roommate play this and getting more and more convinced that the plot is about a gay couple going to war.

this shit was beyond disappointing, i posted this in the 360 thread: when you try to duck for cover, half the time you'll jump up onto whatever you're trying to hide behind, it is almost impossible to aim at someone close to you, supposedly you can do melee attacks when you are close to someone by pressing the fire button, but it that only seemed to work about 10% of the time, it needs a button of its own, and the co op stuff that it is supposed to be so focused on is mainly just needing 2 people to open doors.

What did you expect from a game that offers you gold plated armor.

Just going by the commercials and trailers that I've seen....It doesn't look like the combat mechanics have really been polished at all. It tries to execute a great original idea but focuses too much on the initial gimmick and not enough on the meat of the game (good gameplay). It reminded me somewhat of Gears of War (again, just going by the trailers), but less fine-tuned.Some of the vehicle segments look great, though. The two-player mechanics have great potential there. I'm interested to find out just how often you are able to co-drive a vehicle.

it has the potential to be a good game depending on whether or not you like the like mechanics. Personally i think Gears is an awesome coop game with just enough story to explain why the aliens are popping out of the ground rather than being transported from the orbiting doomship. but Halflife probaly has the best story for a shooter

I just cant bring myself to buy this because I have a gut feeling I'll be disappointed. I may try renting it or waiting till it gets cheaper, but by then the only person to play video games with will be my wife.
