the thread referendum flag - each user has the ability to "flag" a thread that the deem ANYTHING. doesn't matter what. if they think the thread is offensive, stupid, [old], boring, annoying, whatever... they can flag it. one the flag gets hit X (25?) times, its referendum time! the thread is held at the top of the page for 24 hours and users can vote for or against. winner take all.

same with suspensions.

now there are also negatives i can forsee, but only with suspensions. i think there would have to be a time limit on majority rule suspensions cause that might end up being a little unfair to people. i think the thread thing would work, though. cause i could see people ganging up to get someone suspended POSSIBLY (but theyd need a big determined gang).. but youd have to do something pretty stupid to have all your threads called out to begin with.. and then on top of that, have tww as a majority kill every one?

many forums already have this with thread voting, once a thread gets a low enough vote it's trashed.

how about a definitive list of "bad words", including racial slurs,

and "bad word credits" or BWCs for sale???


you know, like pollution credits for polluters, (except on TWW, you don't get any for free)

users could pay (in advance) an amount (rounded to the nearest $5?) to TWW, (the rate for premies being less?)

their profile could list their current "remaining BWC balance"

and the definitive list of "bad words" would list corresponding "prices"

post a bad word (even if you edit it?), and your "BWC balance" would be deducted by the "price" of that word

if your balance doesn't have enough to cover the cost of your post, then you're automatically suspended


so there'd be freedom of speech (at least when it comes to "bad words",)

but people who really feel the need to use "bad words" would be slightly discouraged

and TWW would profit
