Sit down when you play with the arm that you bowl with hanging off the side of the chair. You look like a lazy bastard if everyone is standing up, but I find you can get more consistency sitting down.

The Wii doesn't care what direction you're facing, only the up/down motion of your arm be in a straight line, and your timing of the release (which you should be consistent with), and the rotation of your wrist.

You can either try to compensate for how you naturally bowl, or be precise in your movements, whichever you think you can do more consistently.

It's best to come in through the 1-2 or 1-3 pins depending on right/left handedness, with a little bit of spin (which you control purely by twisting your wrist while swinging). Don't spin a lot, it only takes a little.

And position your guy a little to the right/left initially-- depending on handedness, with an angle straight down the lane (and use the little bit of spin mentioned above).

Okay, the bowling is probably the most intuitive of the Wii sports. It is the one that is most like the actual sport, so if you've bowled before, you know most of it already.

The main thing to remember is that it's all based on motion sensors, so the movement is just numbers to the wii.

The Wii doesn't care what direction you're facing. You could literally be in another room, facing any random direction, and bowl a strike. However, as a n00b, you're going to want to look at the screen. But when you're looking at the screen, you have a tendency to swing your arm towards the pins in the screen. Don't do this. Swing your arm as straight as you can, keep the wiimote leveled.

The wii shows you the instructions on how to bowl, but basically when it's your turn, you hold the wiimote upright (imagine holding a candlestick in your hand, that's light), press the trigger, swing your arm down, then swing your arm up, releasing the trigger as you would normally release a bowl.

Before you swing though, since you're right handed, you'll have a natural tendency to twist your wrist to the left (for most peopel anyway), this is not a bad thing. But, to compensate, and also to get the best ball approach, before you swing at all, you can use the left/right arrows on the wiimote to move your character to the right. Do so for about the 1.5-2 marks on the lane to the right of center (more or less depending on your bowling swing).

You can also press the big circle button on the face of the wiimote (the "A" button) to toggle to an angling mode, where you can angle your guy some. But you only need to do this to pick up some spares.

Now you're ready to bowl the ball. Your down-swing of your arm doesn't really matter, it's only your up swing. If you swing up and down perfectly straight, no twisting of the wrist, the ball will go straight. If you swing up and down straight, while rotating your wrist on the UPWARD swing, the ball will curve in the direction of the twist. Because of the physics of bowling, you'll want the ball to curve just after the 1 pin, between the 1 pin and 3 pin.

it's the one where you're bowling the practice mode where there's like 99 pins on the lane and you throw it down the rail on the side creating a sonic boom and getting a strike through vibrations of said boom.

Cheating: if you hold the trigger down to where the bowler walks all the way up to the line with the ball still in the up position and THEN make the bowling motion, the character will just kinda shotput the ball onto the lane and it'll pretty much always go straight... but it's VERY obvious when you do this...

Its not that hard to bowl a perfect game, you just have to establish consistency with your arm motion. Find a friend who has a wii and practice before hand.
