I used to pay ~$15 or so to get my haircut. I would tip a few dollars.

But then i discovered I could cut my own hair. So i tip myself ~$15 of beer.

I only tip because she doesn't charge me for the actual cut (normally$25). Usually I just give her a bottle of wine or something cool for her daughter.

I guess if I was paying $25 I probably wouldn't tip. It's not like they are waiters making $2.15 an hour...Those fuckers at the salon make more than I do!

I usually tip $2 on top of a $10-15 haircut. All I get is a razor cut so it's not too much work for the barber.

If they go above and beyond (i.e. trim my facial hair, rinse my hair without me having to ask them) I'll throw them an extra dollar or two.

Welllll... this is a totally-flawed girl perspective.

Primp Salon Bar... $180 haircut, $30 tip....

I've also cut back on going there... that was putting a hurtin' on the funds (ok, I'm not gonna lie... mom and pops were paying then)... but they really do no better than a $40 cut from Mitchell's at the mall.

$8 tip

Old school guy that cuts it exactly how I want. I don't mind tipping well if service is great.

$7.50-12 haircut that takes almost no time (just get a #2 buzzcut since it's low-maintenance).

I tip anywhere from $4-8 depending on who it is and how nice they were. If they do a good job and don't make me bleed and give a little conversation, $8. If they get the job done pretty quickly but aren't the chattiest and maybe buzz a bit too close sometimes, $4.

Either way I think they deserve to be paid more than they're getting. They get paid shit.

damn... what stupid parents.

no matter how rich i got, if my daughter ever asked me for $210 for a haircut, i would shoot her point-blank in her dome-piece.

Ok I'll bite. I don't think this is a serious thread because if you are frequenting here you must be 18 years or older and you should know this by now. Let's just say this: the guy that brings you your burger and tops off your coke gets 15% if they do a decent job.

The person who cuts your hair and makes you presentable for school and work needs to be tipped at least 30%, if you're satisfied with the job IMO.

used to be $12 haircut with a $3 tip - they raised the price somewhat recently to $14 and the tip is still $3

my crazy wife just got a $80 haircut and tipped $20 (original cost of the haircut was $100 but she's a friend of a friend so she discounted it to $80 - supposedly she's the queen of curls)

I wasn't aware that barbers got paid below minimum wage like waiters. If they want more money, put it in the price of the cut.

I normally will tip 20-25% if they do a really good job.
However, I normally dont cross $40 at the salon any more.

Most expensive I've ever done was about $160, $20 tip which isn't 25% but I didnt think that while the girl did an awesome job, it was a $40 tip awesome job. That was for interviews though, after a couple times there I coulnd't afford it anymore and now even though I can, I dont.

$100 hair cuts and $210 hair cuts? Single men. Find out how much your girlfriend pays for haircuts before you propose to them.

depends on how good of a job they do.

best situation: best haircut of my life. i tipped $50 because i was hair modeling for her salon, and she only charged me $30 for a cut and dimensional coloring.

worst situation: the lady insulted my career, my religious views, and began talking about "faggots" being wrong. it was the worst haircut i've ever had - she missed HUGE chunks of hair in the back. i held up a ruler, showed her pictures, used my fingers to say "NO MORE THAN ONE INCH OFF" and i saw 6-inch chunks of my hair falling to the ground. i paid, gave a $0.10 tip and told her to put it in the collection plate at church that sunday to help in converting all of the "faggots" in the world.

I guess I should also note that a $180 hair cut included cut and color re-touch and took over 2 hours... if a men's haircut took 2 hours it would probably be over $15 as well...
