Cook-Out. No contest.

Yes, the chicken is better at Zax, and their salads are pretty killer.

But..milkshakes, man, milkshakes. And all the various ways to dress up your burger or chixn at Cook-Out. And hush puppies. And hot dogs. And fountain Cheerwine. And better tea. Did I mention Fountain Fucking Cheerwine??

I do go to Zaxby's. They have good stuff there. But, even taking cost out of the equation, if I had to pick which one stayed and which one left the area, I'd keep Cook-Out. Easiest choice in the world.

While I didn't eat there regularly at the time (due to distance), the first time I ate at Cook-Out was in fact in 1999. (The one on Battleground in Greensboro) And I'm still firmly in the "Cook-Out is Damn Tasty" camp.
