2/28/2008 4:28:03 PM
why would you go to Sushi Blues in the first place? That place is fucking horrible.[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 4:39 PM. Reason : ]
2/28/2008 4:33:27 PM
you don't have time to type 'arrested development chicken' into google but you have time to debate whether or not it's on the internet?
2/28/2008 4:33:35 PM
the other day i noticed that costco has sushi. has anyone had it? is it like harris teeter sushi?
2/28/2008 4:44:28 PM
2/28/2008 4:45:48 PM
i have had it, it was indeed like harris teeter sushi.
2/28/2008 4:45:52 PM
thanks! i'm gonna buy some tonight now.
2/28/2008 4:46:36 PM
i like sushi blues, mainly because it's just a block and a half away from me, but i'll be damned if i go there on half price night. The crowd is not worth it to me.
2/28/2008 4:58:48 PM
Kashin sushi in Crossroads in Cary is much better.
2/28/2008 5:05:54 PM
The sushi is pretty bad at sushi blues, but i like the atmosphere so i go every now and then. Get something other than sushi.
2/28/2008 5:06:52 PM
is there any restaurant around here to get good sushi for christ's sakei tried sushi thai a few months ago and was not very impressedthe only sushi i get anymore is harris teeter
2/28/2008 5:11:55 PM

2/28/2008 5:13:00 PM
^^Go to "Taiyo" in Charlotte. I rarely get sushi in Raleigh anymore because i started going to that place. The most amazing sushi i've had in a while.[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 5:13 PM. Reason : .]
2/28/2008 5:13:09 PM
there's a new place out in that shopping center w/ harris teeter and glenwood grill, on glenwood and oberlin. i like their sushi a lot, but it's not cheap.
2/28/2008 5:13:20 PM
^^ bit of a drive, don't you think?
2/28/2008 5:13:53 PM

^^^ yeah it is. But i promise it's worth the 2 hour drive. It's a "pan asian" place and the cooks can make whatever you want. So if anyone is in Charlotte look up "Taiyo" and i promise you won't be dissapointed.

LOCALE SUSHI SUCKS MAN, YOU SHOULD GO TO THIS SUSHI JOINT IN JAPAN. I rarely get sushi in Raleigh anymore because i started going to that place. The most amazing sushi i've had in a while.I promise it's worth the 2 day trip. It's a "pan asian" place and the cooks can make whatever you want. So if anyone is in Japan look up "Sushi joint across the street" and i promise you won't be dissapointed.
2/28/2008 6:48:26 PM
^actually sushi originated in China then was brought to japan. They rolled fish in rice w/ vinager in it to preserve the fish. Sushi in japan is good too. It's a little different then your typical sushi here though. Alot more Nigiri and less maki. But yeah check out Taiyo if anyones in Charlotte.
2/28/2008 6:53:22 PM
harris teeter sushi is okay if your desperate, but ew guys HT sashimi is good but the rolls are on the lower side of "meh"
2/28/2008 6:56:29 PM
Little Tokyo in Cary is really good.
2/28/2008 6:56:36 PM
good lord... we now have sushi snobschrist, its sushi from HT, use your brain and figure out that its gonna be as good as sushi from HT can be expected. its still not bad if you're fiending for some cheap sushi
2/28/2008 7:14:24 PM
^^^^ sushi evolved from a cuisine that came from China. Just like almost everything in Japan ultimately did.[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 7:26 PM. Reason : i dont mean a "cuisine" from china, you know...]
2/28/2008 7:25:37 PM
fresh market sushi > harris teeter sushi, imo.but really, i'll eat it all.

just go to waraji and skip the blues
2/29/2008 9:07:02 AM
I've eaten at most of these places, and Asahi in Cary (near crossroads) is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest IMO. I felt like a schmuck sitting at Sushi Blues with a tiny little sliver of Tuna in my roll, overwhelmed by cream cheese and other unnecessary filler. Not that I'm questioning the "authenticity," but it was an assembly line of prep cooks haphazardly throwing together sushi rolls, when it seemed like they should be piecing together burritos at Chipotle. No racism here whatsoever, I'd just opt for a less commercialized experience at Asahi. *steps down off soap box
